🥕 SEPTEMBER IS SNACK-TEMBER! 🍎

The new school year is the perfect time to take a closer look at what goes into your child’s lunchbox — because everyday snack choices can have a lasting effect on their teeth.

Sugary, sticky and acidic snacks or drinks expose teeth to repeated acid attacks throughout the day. Over time, this can weaken the enamel and increase the risk of tooth decay. It is not only the amount of sugar that matters, but also how frequently it is consumed.

🦷 DENTAL MYTH: “Baby teeth don’t need treatment — they’ll fall out anyway.”

Baby teeth may be temporary, but their role is extremely important. They help children chew and speak properly, while also maintaining the space needed for permanent teeth to erupt in the correct position.

Many adults struggle with crowded, crooked or unhealthy teeth partly because their baby teeth were not given enough attention during childhood. Untreated decay, infection or the early loss of a baby tooth can affect the developing permanent teeth and contribute to problems with spacing and eruption.
