Grass seeds strike again! 🌾🐾

Lovely Molly came to see us with a sore paw, and it turned out a pesky grass seed was the culprit.

These tiny seeds can cause a surprising amount of discomfort, so remember to check your dog’s paws after walks through long grass, especially between the toes. 🐶💙

We hope you’re feeling much more comfortable now, Molly! ✨

Meet little Bailey, who completely melted our hearts! 🖤🐾

Bailey came into the practice for his castration, but there was one very important thing to take care of first… cuddles! 🥹💕

With a face like that, how could we possibly resist? What a sweetheart! 🖤✨

Meet the very lovely Rosie and Taz! 🐾💕

Rosie came in for her post-op check following the removal of a lump from her eye, and we’re delighted to say everything has healed beautifully and she’s now officially signed off! ✨

Of course, her brother Taz came along to provide some very important moral support. 🥹

These two are incredibly sweet, so well behaved and have completely stolen the hearts of our team! 💙

Nothing better than a cuddle and a few air biscuits! 🐱💕🐾 Safe to say someone was feeling very happy and relaxed during their visit 😻

'Tis the season for grass seeds... and poor Pebbles found that out the hard way! 🌾🐶

This lovely Sprocker Spaniel came to see us after a grass seed made its way into her ear. Thankfully, it was safely removed during her appointment, and she's already feeling much more comfortable. 💚

Grass seeds can cause a lot of irritation, so remember to check your pets after walks, especially around their ears, paws, and between their toes. 🐾

Grass seeds may look harmless, but their barbed shape means they can travel in one direction only - into your dog’s skin, ears, eyes, paws or nose. Take a minute after every walk to check your dog over, especially during the summer months ☀️

If you notice excessive licking, head shaking, sneezing or a painful eye, contact your vet promptly 📞

☀️🐶 Heatwave incoming! Before walking your dog this weekend, try the five-second pavement test 🖐️

If you can comfortably hold the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds 👍, it should be safe for your dog’s paws. If not, it’s too hot! 🔥🐾

Remember to walk early morning or later in the evening, bring water, and keep your pets cool 💙

☀️🐶 Is it too hot to walk your dog?

As temperatures rise this weekend, it’s important to know when a walk could become dangerous for your pet. Heatstroke can happen quickly — especially in puppies, older dogs, flat-faced breeds, larger dogs, and overweight pets.

Swipe through our guide to see what temperatures are considered safe, when to take extra care, and when it’s best to avoid walks altogether. 🌡️➡️

💧 Top tips for hot weather:
• Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
• Always carry fresh water
• Stick to shaded routes where possible
• Avoid hot pavements — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws
• Never leave your dog in a parked car

If you notice excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse, contact your vet immediately.

Stay safe and keep those tails wagging this summer 💙
