🐈♿️🌍 Cindy-Ambrose-Tracy → “Cindy-Cat” — European Adventure & Glow-Up!
Meet Cindy-Ambrose-Tracy, affectionately known as “Cindy-Cat” 🐈 — my top-of-the-range powered wheelchair and now a properly seasoned European traveller!
A few people have asked about the rather unusual name I’ve given my powered wheelchair, so here’s the story behind it! 😂
Cindy is for Cindy Beale from EastEnders — for the drama, glamour and huge personality.
Ambrose is for Ambrose Eagan from Ballykissangel — particularly because Ambrose was the local Garda/guard, giving the name a nice connection with looking after people and keeping an eye on things.
Tracy is for Tracy Barlow from Coronation Street — for the strong personality, attitude and unmistakable British soap-character energy! 😂
Put them together:
Cindy + Ambrose + Tracy = Cindy-Ambrose-Tracy
And naturally, that became:
🐈 “Cindy-Cat”
Cindy-Cat has just returned from an adventure through:
🇨🇭 Switzerland
🇩🇪 Germany
🇫🇷 France
🇱🇮 Liechtenstein
She travelled by train, went on an aircraft and survived the aircraft cargo hold — although I strongly suspect the cargo hold contributed generously to the impressive amount of dust and dirt she came home wearing! 😂
So she needed a serious clean.
Thankfully, I had some help from the AA, who supplied some of the cleaning products, and I also picked up some useful bits from Home Bargains.
The cleaning arsenal included:
🧴 Demon car shampoo — about £14 a bottle
🧽 Microfibre sponge
✨ Microfibre cleaning cloths
🚗 Dashboard/cockpit cleaning products and cloths
I deliberately didn’t wax her because I have an incredible white camo finish that I fought extremely hard to get, and I wasn’t prepared to risk chipping or damaging it.
The result?
She genuinely looks better than when she was brand new. 🤍✨
And the tyres! 😍
They have come up ridiculously well — I honestly think the tyres look better than they did when they were brand new.
I’ll be sharing the before-and-after photographs because the difference is quite something.
The trip itself wasn’t exactly straightforward — we had major rail disruption, missed our easyJet flight and Dad had to arrange an emergency British Airways flight — but Cindy-Cat made it through the whole adventure.
