It's official. I'm a TEDx speaker. 🔴
As I stood on the stage yesterday it brought so many feelings. Having said yes to doing this earlier this year was exciting and terrifying.
My talk What Kind of Villager Am I? - is the most personal, honest thing I have ever stood up and said out loud. And I am so proud of myself for doing it.
This journey has been everything. Exhilarating, exhausting, grief-soaked and grace-filled. In May I lost my soul dog- my beautiful girl who sat beside me through so much of the work that led to this moment. I carried her onto that stage with me. I always will.
To Annelies James and entire TEDxGosport team- immense gratitude for this opportunity and for believing in my idea from the beginning.
To my coach Cesar Cervantes - you saw the talk before I could. Thank you for holding the vision and space for me through it all.
To Am Golhar - for her unwavering belief in me and seeing me up on that stage before I could. Grateful for your love, support and guidance.
To my husband - who has heard this talk more times than is strictly fair, and loved me through every version of it. Thank you for sitting through the rehearsals, the rewrites, and the wobbles. You are my home.
To my family- who are always cheering all versions of me in their own beautiful way.
To my TEDx buddy Alison- who supported me with her warmth and wisdom every step of the way.
To my village - those who stepped in quietly, practically, lovingly, so that I could go and do this thing. You are the reason this talk exists.
To my fellow speakers- thankyou for becoming my village through this process and cheering me on.
And to my angels, and the universe - thank you for the nudges and the signs. I heard you. I showed up. Thank you for meeting me there.
To anyone standing at the edges of their own life wondering if they belong - they do. You do. ❤️
More coming soon.
But for now- Back to pinching myself.
