I felt the need to respond to the nonsense coming out of the White House yesterday. Honestly, I feel that need every single day, but mostly try not to take the bait. But this is too important.

Vaccines are safe, painstakingly researched and developed by skilled, dedicated scientists. Please don't listen to the ramblings of a foolish old man, or his health secretary – a lifelong vaccine sceptic.

Children are dying in the US from measles – a disease that should have long since been eradicated by the MMR. But unscrupulous people like Dr Andrew Wakefield sought to discredit this lifesaving medicine, sowing doubt and fear in the minds of many parents.

Of course parents want to do everything they can to keep their kids safe. But there is ZERO evidence that the MMR jab causes autism (which is neurodevelopmental and, as far as we know, mostly genetic in origin).

So please listen to the experts – the scientists, doctors, pediatric specialists, immunologists) not the dangerous, misguided advice based on something they read on Facebook.

Thanks for reading – sending love to all the parents, who do the hardest and most important job on Earth.

Dan ❤️

Looking a bit hot and bothered after the first workout in my new al fresco gym!

I’m building the gym piece by piece, but it’s already a great space to train – something which is fundamental for my physical and mental health.

Hope you all manage to move your bodies today, in whichever you enjoy.

Love, Dan ❤️

This grounded, in-the-moment state is something we all seek, but can prove elusive.

That’s especially true in our frazzled age, as we hop from one digital space to the next, our ability to focus and pay attention vanishing as we bounce from one distraction to the next.

Luckily, it doesn’t have to be this way. We have known for a long time (2,500 years, to be exact) how to develop a strong, focused attention – we call that mindfulness.

But you don’t need to be the Buddha – or even a Buddhist – to become more mindful. That’s the beauty of meditation, something that can be practised any time, anywhere and is absolutely free.

A schema is a template in your brain for how to respond to something you experience often.

We all have schemas for tying our shoes, telling the time and reading English-language sentences like this one.

However, we can also have one or more ‘early maladaptive schemas’, which are ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving in response to painful experiences, usually in childhood.
