Your grip strength can tell you a lot about how well your body is ageing.

Because your grip isn’t just about your hands.
It’s a window into what’s happening everywhere else around the body.

If your grip is getting weaker as you get older, there’s a good chance other parts of your body are getting weaker too.

Your arms. Your shoulders. Your legs. Your ability to carry things, lift things and move through everyday life with confidence.

And that’s why it’s worth doing something about it now.

Start with these 8 simple movements today.

They’ll help you squeeze, twist, curl, rotate, pinch, toss, hold and carry - rebuilding strength not only through your hands and wrists, but across your entire body too.

Because the goal isn’t really a stronger grip.

It’s having the strength to keep doing things for yourself, keep doing the things you love, and keep living life to the full for as long as possible.

Save this one and give all 8 a go this week.

Most people think losing your memory is just part of getting older.

You either get dementia or you don’t.

And there’s not much you can do about it.

But three major studies, on three different continents, are showing us just how much we can do.

And here’s the best bit.

The answer wasn’t some new drug, or a £100-a-month supplement.

And it also wasn’t spending three hours a day doing brain games.

It was the basics, that we all know to be tried and true.

Move your body
Strength train
Eat well
and look after your blood pressure, cholesterol and bodyweight.

And then keep doing those things.
Week after week. Year after year.

We all love looking for the one thing that will keep us healthy.

That magic exercise. The perfect diet. The latest supplement.

But the real secret is that there is no secret.

It’s the simple things we already know we should be doing, done consistently for long enough to matter.

We can’t control everything about how our brains age.
But we can influence far more than most of us realise.

And so whatever age you are today, it’s never too late to start stacking the odds in your favour.

Your hips are designed to move. But as we get older, we give them fewer and fewer reasons to.

Think about how much you moved when you were younger. You sat on the floor. You squatted down. You climbed things. You ran, twisted, reached and moved your body in all sorts of different ways without ever thinking about it.

But then life changes.

We sit at desks. We drive. We sit on sofas. And then we retire.

And gradually, our hips spend more and more time doing less.

The body is incredibly good at adapting to what we ask of it.
But it’s also incredibly good at adapting to what we stop asking of it too.

If you keep doing less every year, things will get harder. And before long, you can find yourself blaming your age for something that has actually been developing quietly for years.

That’s why keeping those hips moving matters.

Not for the love of exercise, but for the love of life.

Strong, mobile hips help you walk, climb stairs, get off the floor, travel, play with your grandchildren and keep doing the things you enjoy without having to think twice about whether your body can handle them.

Your body adapts to the life you give it.
So keep giving it more. 💛

Can’t touch your toes no matter how much you stretch?

Your hamstrings are likely NOT the problem.

If you’re someone who keeps stretching, feels a wee bit looser in the moment, then wakes up the next day just as stiff, there’s a reason it isn’t creating a lasting change.

And simply stretching again isn’t the answer.

I’ve put together a simple 3-step routine that will get you there instead.

Your bones need a reason to stay strong.

As we get older, it can be tempting to move less, lift less and generally become more careful with our bodies.

But our bones respond to the demands we place on them.

That doesn’t mean doing anything reckless. It means continuing to walk, lift, carry, climb stairs and gradually challenge your body in ways that are appropriate for you.

The goal isn’t to avoid using your body as you get older.

It’s to keep using it so you can keep using it.

Save this one as a reminder 💛

Worried about osteoporosis or osteopenia?

Here are 4 simple moves you can start doing at home to help keep your bones strong as you get older.

Try adding these in 2-3 times per week, starting with what feels manageable and gradually building from there.

You don’t need to do loads. The important thing is your giving your bones a regular resistance and load to respond to.

Save this one and give them a try this week 💛
