Autumn vibes, beautiful colours and…. colds?!

New season, time to slow down and take it easy! Loving back bends at the moment and a more restorative practise as energy is low (from caring for the little humans with colds!) and needing to recharge. My fav: supported savasana with a bolster under the back 👌. Start seated, place the bolster vertically right against the sacrum and just lie back down, true bliss.

A little yin to the yang 🙃 yoga is for all mood states

Hugs!

That was my answer to the one thing i miss most in our remote/online working environment. Don’t get me wrong, I think there are a lot of benefits to the way we work now but the one thing I miss dearly is the connection we share by the simple act of giving a hug.

If you’ve been to my classes you know I’m always there, arms wide open, (begging?) to give a hug. Or if I haven’t met you yet I’ll be that person who crosses that invisible (British?) line, of hugging way too soon at the first introduction. Uhhh ohh did she just do that…awkward pose…rigid back…guess I’ll just have to give a pat?

The thing is it’s a great act of kindness, showing care, kinship, and so much more. And the cherry on the top: it releases the feel good hormones.

Let’s hug some more folks!

Not yet convinced? has written a couple of books on the subject and reviewed the act of kindness from a scientific angle, which have really inspired me.

Tomorrow we’ll meet again Peckham friends!

Suitable for pregnancy and post natal, we’ll start a gentle 60min practice first, followed by a picnic so we can catch up and meet some of the new little yogis ❤️

If bubba is still very little and not sure about the yoga, you can still join for the social bit and meet other mums.

Those still with bumps, I’ll come armed with the usual practical tips and care to get you safely to the finish line 🥰 (or I should really say starting line!…)

As the purpose of this event is to honour our community we’ve built, I’m not asking for payment but if you’d like you can donate to www.1stplace.uk.com, a charity providing early education and support for local families with children in SE27.

Pls DM me for the exact location

Today 18 months ago, I entered for the first time. Jesse was 4 months old and this soulful aussie asked if I could cover her post-natal classes.
Little did I know how it would impact me. In a time of lockdown, post-partum depression, loneliness, exhaustion and a time where help wasn't available, this place fostered a community. It brought healing, purpose and above all a loving community of staff, teachers and students alike.
Pregnancy Mondays and Friday Flows were later added to the timetable and have been my favourite days since.
I hope I've given as much love, energy and wisdom to my students and fellow teachers as they have given to me over the last 18 months and it breaks my heart that this place is forced to close its doors.

In a time where yoga is offered for practically nothing in parks, online or through third party providers, pls consider the effort it takes for local studios to pay rent, build a community and foster teachers with years of experience. Come to the studio, embrace the energy of everyone around you, sharing the experience and pay what you can.

This place is home, it's family and has my heart.
Thank you ,
Love and light always.

Do what you love and a smile will follow. Think the better of people and observe how you react differently as a direct result.

Our brains control our happiness and what I mean by that is you control how you perceive events. The brain doesn’t process what actually happens but it processes how we perceive them. Cool stuff huh?

Liking the current podcast How our brains control our happiness. Giving me plenty of food for thought about my own reactions!

Give it a go: next time you are overcome by a strong emotion or response to someone’s (perceived!) action, give them the benefit of the doubt instead and see how that changes your reaction and the situation as a result.

Let me know your thoughts :) ❤️🙌

It’s only 8pm but my body is telling me to go to bed!! 😱😱🙈 🤪 (last night’s girls night surely has nothing to do with it)

Soo instead ….. Adding a bit of movement after a long day behind the laptop! (And then go to bed😜)
Absolutely love these lateral stretches for lower back (side to side), and deep lunges for hip flexors, and cactus arms for pectoral muscles.

Give it a go ❤️

You’ll always find these movements in my warm ups.

P.s. also great for the fellow runners out there (maybe add grabbing the back foot in low lunge, stretching the quad)
