We had a wonderful day this week celebrating the launch of our Volunteer Long Service Awards to recognise the extraordinary commitment of our volunteers.

It was a real pleasure for our team to come together and be able to say thank you.

Our volunteers give their time, care and energy to support others across our community - everything we do at Wimbledon Guild is made possible because of you.

In total, 123 volunteers received an award recognising 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of service - each an incredible milestone and a truly inspiring achievement.

To every one of our volunteers: thank you for all that you do. 💛

We’re continuing to share stories from the people who give their time during Volunteers’ Week! ⭐

Today we’re featuring Abbie, one of our event volunteers at Waggy Walk.

“Volunteering at Waggy Walk is incredibly rewarding. It’s such a fun and fulfilling way to give back to the local community. I love being outdoors, meeting lots of lovely dogs, and working alongside an amazing team.”

Thank you to Abbie and all of our volunteers who support our events and help bring people together across the community.

Today it's Pascal who is one of our fabulous HomeFood Café chefs:

“The atmosphere and the people are amazing and the support I’ve received has been brilliant. It’s wonderful to feel part of a team.”

A huge thank you to Pascal and all of our incredible volunteers who make such a difference in our community every single day.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Community Garden plant sale last Saturday 🌱

Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers who sowed, potted, watered and helped on the day, we raised an amazing £1,147.96 (and counting!).

We welcomed around 150 adults and 20 children, with 12 volunteers giving over 50 hours of their time.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event!

The Met Office has issued its first heat-health alert of the year, with temperatures in Merton expected to reach the 30s this weekend. While many of us may enjoy the warmer weather, it can pose risks for some - including older people, babies and young children, and those with long-term health conditions.
