We weren’t going to be doing anything this weekend but one of our users noticed an open day at a local gardens in Highgate, so we visited this lunchtime.
They grow a large variety of vegetables including lots of rare varieties.

We were delighted to join the last “Bat Walk” of the year this early evening and I’m delighted to say we caught several flying around over the Bridge close to the House. It was quite thrilling to see the bats so close up!!

This afternoon saw us returning to Sadlers Wells for a fun and energetic community engagement session “Far From Home Movement Workshop” delivered by the brilliant Alleyne Dance Company who are performing at Sadlers East at the end of next week. Great fun for us all.

We headed to the Old Street venue for the London Symphony Orchestra at lunchtime to listen to a free concert by Gareth Davies - Principal Flautist since 2000. He played three quite modern pieces - extremely well - including one getting its premiere.

We had to dash from our Clissold walk today but it was in a good cause.
I had seen that a Solo Harpist was performing a lunchtime concert at St. Pancras Church, Euston, and I really wanted to be there. Boy, was it worth it.
Welsh Huw Boucher was absolutely brilliant playing several pieces with incredible dexterity and I loved every second.
We had to get a picture with the Harp too.

Another lovely walk today - even with several regulars missing - and collecting a newbie along the way too.
We were also celebrating three birthdays - Paul and Justin for Saturday and new lady Miriam for yesterday.
I brought along my Cherry/Coconut slices, and Ros produced a gorgeous Date, Apple, Walnut cake too.
Thanks everyone.

We have been spoiled rotten this summer at the Globe and it ended on a real high with a truly magnificent production of As You Like It.

The acting was superb with humour and timing. We loved every moment.

Thanks again to our wonderful friends at the Kings Head Theatre for our Old Queens Club tickets to see Gang of Three. This play was on last year (I have used that poster) and I loved it then. It was terrific to meet a couple of the cast afterwards and chat about the production.

Two of our Thursday walkers share an upcoming birthday this weekend, so I baked a Cherry/Coconut Loaf Cake for the occasion. Came out really well. Lots of coconut.

Another brilliant concert at St Brides off Fleet Street with two very accomplished musicians - a pianist who appeared to have magic fingers with a lot of notes to play - and a cellist bringing emotion and flair to Beethoven!!
