If "just calm down" never works, it's because your nervous system listens to how you breathe far
more than what you tell yourself.
You can repeat every calming phrase you know and still feel your heart racing underneath it.
That's because your breath speaks your body's language directly.
A long, slow exhale is one of the simplest ways to signal safety to the nervous system - no
convincing required.
So try this: slow inhale, slower exhale. Especially the exhale. Let it be the longest, softest part
and let your body hear the message.
Will it solve everything? No.
But it can be a powerful place to start. 💛
Keep this somewhere safe for when you need it.
