When we begin to realise that each day is not simply one more, but one less, we naturally start to give more time, energy and appreciation to what truly matters.

When men don’t feel valued, they often start performing.

More muscle.
Sharper clothes.
Bigger labels.
Cosmetic tweaks.
A harder attitude.
A version of masculinity built to be approved of.

And this is not limited to one background, profession, culture, or postcode. Across the UK, many men quietly carry the feeling that they are not respected, not seen, or not enough.

So they try to become more impressive from the outside.

But external validation is a fragile place to build your identity. You can train the body, change the wardrobe, improve the face, and upgrade the image, but if inside is still living in shame, comparison, pressure, or fear of rejection, the work is incomplete.

This is not about judging men for wanting to look good or feel confident.

It is about asking a more honest question:

Are you building yourself from self-respect and a desire to contribute to peace within your community, or from the fear that you are not enough?

Creatine itself is natural. Your body makes it, and it is found in foods such as meat and fish. But creatine supplements including monohydrate and many other forms, are typically manufactured synthetically rather than extracted from animal sources. It usually produced through chemical manufacturing using raw materials such as sarcosine/sodium sarcosinate and cyanamide.

Cyanamide is not something you would want to consume as a raw chemical, but in a properly made supplement it should react fully and be removed through purification. The real question is: How pure is the finished product?

Poorly made creatine may contain unwanted residues, by-products or potentially heavy metals. So choose reputable brands with proper third-party testing.

Creatine supports energy by helping recycle ATP, the body’s energy currency. That is why it is best known for strength, muscle performance, and repeated short bursts of effort. There is also growing interest in brain function, especially when a person under stress, sleep deprivation, ageing, or low dietary creatine intake.

But before chasing supplement hype, we would prioritise the foundations:

1. Resistance training
Not just “lift weights”, but learn to move well, load intelligently, breathe properly, control range, and train with purpose.
2. Cardio plus intervals
Brisk walking, cycling, swimming, incline walking, and short intervals support cardiovascular and brain health.
3. Mediterranean-style eating
Olive oil, oily fish, colourful vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, herbs, and quality protein.
4. Protein from food
Eggs, fish, poultry, yoghurt, tofu, tempeh, beans, lentils, and good-quality meat if you eat it.
5. Sleep
Creatine may help under sleep-deprived conditions, but it does not replace deep, restorative sleep.
6. Nervous system regulation
Breathwork, yoga, walking in nature, meditation, massage, social connection, and less constant phone stimulation.
7. Sunlight and rhythm
Morning light supports energy, mood, and sleep regulation.

In our latest article, we explore how performance culture affects not only the mind, but the whole body.

At our holistic chiropractic and integrative health clinic in London, we often see stress presenting as neck tension, headaches, jaw tightness, poor sleep, fatigue and a nervous system that struggles to switch off.

This article takes a deeper look at the connection between modern pressure, physical symptoms and the need for a more sustainable relationship with health and performance.

Your feet are not meant to be squeezed into shape.

They have their own mechanical needs: to spread, grip, sense the ground, and help you push off efficiently as you move. When shoes and socks are too narrow or too small for the actual shape of the foot, that natural function is reduced. The feet are not just passive structures: the brain is constantly picking up signals from them to help organise balance, posture, and movement through the rest of the body.

One of the modern problems is that far too many people are still walking in footwear and socks that does not properly match the shape and width of their feet, whilst also looking down at their phones, two small habits that can change how the whole body organises movement. If most of us walk like that for even 10 seconds, we can already feel the tension building through the neck, shoulders, and back.

Small inputs matter. The way your feet meet the ground, the space your toes have, and where your eyes are focused all send powerful messages through the body.

Be more aware of these subtle signals, they are often more important than they seem.

Sometimes perspective can help us return to what matters.

The Earth has been here far longer than we have, and yet our everyday choices still leave a mark. This is not about guilt or perfection. It is about awareness, responsibility, and the reminder that small actions, repeated with care, can become something meaningful.

Spend time in nature. Walk when you can. Waste less. Choose more thoughtfully. Care for your body, your community, and the world around you as parts of the same whole.
