Highlights from the week just been(There were some lows too) Maybe I’ll share more of those next time.😬Learning lots and feeling pushed out of my comfort zone which is what I signed up for! Loved working with gelatine & pigments (the last 3 figure paintings)Will have some on show Wimbledon Art Studios at the art fair Nov 5- 8th. Hope to see you there.

Mini Masterpiece ‘Dance like no-one’s looking’ now completed! Will next see it when I put it up in the marquee on Sunday 8th November. The fair is over 4 days and there’s so much to see. Come along more than once and maybe pay a special visit on Sunday😉

Just had my first week on the Royal Drawing School intensive. 10wks of drawing classes 3days a week. Intense but worth it! Swipe to see some of the initial offerings. Already reflecting on working with a theme and bringing the imagination more into my life drawings. Friday was fun when I worked with egg tempera for the first time. A bit slimy but learnt something new & a renewed respect for those artist working that way. Let’s see what this week brings? 🙃

A new painting inspired by clearing up some life drawings in the studio. I cut some out, stuck them to the wall as a collage (second image) then began painting them working with the theme ‘identity’ in mind. Still very much a work in progress but I enjoyed letting my imagination lead & discovering a new way of working. 👍

Exploring a different colour palette with flowers inspired by the wonderful book A Proven Strategy for creating Great Art by Dan McCaw. As my mum used to say ‘flowers never clash’ I’m hoping she was right! 🤞❤️

Playing with brush marks, skin tone and colour in the studio yesterday. Having a break today….too hot 🥵
Wanted to keep things small - A5 canvas, but may go bigger next time. 🤔

First creative piece for today. Mixed media on paper. Starting with a guided meditation, making marks with eyes closed, trusting the feeling rather than the thought. Finishing with my own version of a self portrait. Very natural, very organic. A lovely way to begin the day in the studio. Title - Arriving ❤️

I decided to change this picture from an old photo of my grandma and mum….to something quite different. Swipe to see. Thought it was time for a change! I’m exploring the figure with different palettes. I’ll leave it for now before maybe adding a layer in oils.🤔
