Should you be keeping your skincare in the fridge? đđ§
Itâs one of those skincare tips that sounds luxurious â but does your skincare actually need to be chilled?
For most products, no. Your serums and moisturisers are generally formulated to be stored at normal room temperature, away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
But there are a few reasons you might want to chill certain productsâŚ
đ§ Eye products â a cool eye cream or gel can feel wonderfully refreshing first thing in the morning, particularly when the eye area looks puffy.
đŚ Facial mists â keep one chilled during the summer for an instant cooling refresh.
đ Soothing gels or masks â the cooling sensation can feel lovely when skin is hot or uncomfortable.
âď¸ After a hot day â chilled, soothing skincare can feel particularly refreshing, but remember: it doesn't undo sun damage, and sunburn should be avoided in the first place!
One thing I would recommend? Don't keep your skincare on a sunny windowsill or somewhere that gets very hot.Heat, light and humidity aren't ideal storage conditions for many formulas.
And always check the individual product instructions before popping something in the fridge â colder isn't automatically better!
Would you ever keep your skincare next to the milk? đđ§´
