Catching up on reading some of the books that have been arriving at the door 🦋 Had to give a shout out to the brilliant DEAD GOOD SISTERS 💀 Katy & Lindsey Vigurs girls, well LV for this beauty Yes, it’s a children’s book so a quick read, (feeling a bit silly for not reading the day it landed!) but what’ a gem ✨ Beautifully written and illustrated on the magical journey of life, death a how to say goodbye.

My work is essentially facilitating personal needs of the funeral but anchored in the cultural of death in society. Honest conversations for all ages is highly encouraged as is adding The Midnight Moth to the bookshelf in your family home.

Life Takes a Village,

For the good times and the bad.

Family is not only the ones we’re born with. It’s the ones who show up. The friend who becomes a sister. The neighbour who becomes an anchor. The people we choose, again and again, to carry each other through in life, and especially at its end.

Life is a wild and unpredictable path. None of us are meant to do this alone. ot the dying, not the grieving, not the living.

It is a real honour to be a part of the event steering group a collective of professionals and individuals managed by Bankside Open Spaces Trust

This sacred site in the shadow of the Shard holds the remains of over 15,000 outcast women and their children, paupers, s*x workers of the area denied burial on consecrated ground. Today it’s a living shrine, ribbons, poetry and remembrance.

It was so good to see the space animated and brought to life with an intimate live set by Marc Almond for TON launch of vol 6.

Creating space to honour our dead within the heart of our communities is close to my heart so it was a priviege to be a part of making this event happen.

Love Loss Life is not just a slogan for Thereafter, it is at the core of all we do, in the funerals we deliver and within the wider cultural shift in death, dying and honouring life today.

Last night’s gathering was a glorious crowd of vibrant style coming together to whitness this blessing of land in song. Massive congratulations JERMAINE GALLACHER for the success of his stunning publication and the event to celebrate it

“You think outside the box, you do, don’t you.” 🌿

That’s what a groundsman said to us recently, watching a ceremony take shape in the gardens at Golders Green Crematorium — I guess he isn’t wrong. Essentially, what we do best is to listen to personal needs and make it happen.

A family came to us wanting a cremation, but not “that” funeral. Not the cold formality, not the conveyor belt.

They wanted woodland calm, easy access for elderly relatives, and somewhere close enough to central London where they could visit again and again, with ease, on public transport.

So we reimagined the day itself 🕊️

A waterside ceremony beneath old trees → a walk of reflection through the gardens → arriving together for the final farewell.

Gathering. Walking. Arriving. Saying goodbye. Space to feel it, not rush through it.

Funerals are gatherings we wish were not having to attend so aim to make them kind, and dare I say, feel normal, in a language we understand. A little light refreshment on arrival was a simple nuance to assist in creating such a day 🧋

As far as we know, it’s the first time Golders Green’s gardens and chapel have been brought together this way for one ceremony and we’re very grateful for thei open minds and trust in us to deliver such ceremonies

This is what we mean by reimagining funerals - creating days that leave people with something to carry forward, not just something to get through 🤍

Delighted to receive certification as a recommended Funeral Director by the Greener Globe Globe Standard Awards and to have it presented by Professor Hilary Granger OBE, chair of The Cremation Society and President of FBCA, Alan Jose 🏅🍃

We don’t need to talk about climate change anymore, the weather is doing it for us! ☀️☀️☀️
It could not be more vital to discuss and encourage sustainable practices with the funeral industry

Yet another brilliant CBCE (Cremation Burial Communication, Education) conference discussing the industry past, present and future.

- Is the UK Funeral Industry ready for new funerary methods?
-From McFunerals to Meaningful Farewells (something I have a lot to say about)
- What could regulation look like?
- With a keen eye on Scotland, updates from the MOJ.. it was a packed 3 days, and still time for laughs and socials

As always an inspiring panaal of positive, progressive innovatiors, disruptors !

A big week and a hottie but there’s no time like the present and there’s work to be done 💪☠️🌺🌊

Pure evidence of the power of coming together ♥️

Each concluded with an unattended Direct Cremation

The DC conversation is a big one, rather dominate in the funeral sector, it’s steady rise in public choice disrupting a firmly embedded model however I can evidently say, when used well, they facilitate freedom and flexibility in creating farewell beyond the cooking cutter form.

Abney Park was built as a community mortuary chapel. It is a real privilege be able to honour and celebrate life here again. There’s no room for burials in the cemetery but pre cremation funeral ceremonies work wonderfully.
Its open plan layout allows for very personal and flexible use of space for gatherings of various sizes.

Thereafter special in tailoring funerals to you. Turning sad days into very special days, or at least heart warming memories to look back on. There is no right or wrong in how you say goodbye

Unquestionably there is strength in community and least we not forget.
