“You think outside the box, you do, don’t you.” 🌿
That’s what a groundsman said to us recently, watching a ceremony take shape in the gardens at Golders Green Crematorium — I guess he isn’t wrong. Essentially, what we do best is to listen to personal needs and make it happen.
A family came to us wanting a cremation, but not “that” funeral. Not the cold formality, not the conveyor belt.
They wanted woodland calm, easy access for elderly relatives, and somewhere close enough to central London where they could visit again and again, with ease, on public transport.
So we reimagined the day itself 🕊️
A waterside ceremony beneath old trees → a walk of reflection through the gardens → arriving together for the final farewell.
Gathering. Walking. Arriving. Saying goodbye. Space to feel it, not rush through it.
Funerals are gatherings we wish were not having to attend so aim to make them kind, and dare I say, feel normal, in a language we understand. A little light refreshment on arrival was a simple nuance to assist in creating such a day 🧋
As far as we know, it’s the first time Golders Green’s gardens and chapel have been brought together this way for one ceremony and we’re very grateful for thei open minds and trust in us to deliver such ceremonies
This is what we mean by reimagining funerals - creating days that leave people with something to carry forward, not just something to get through 🤍
