The Blood Sugar Rollercoaster
A big energy dip around 3 in the afternoon…can be related to our blood sugars.
Eating too many refined carbohydrates like pasta and bread especially for breakfast or lunch quickly increases glucose levels and our body’s insulin can overcorrects, dropping blood sugar below baseline.
That crash can trigger fatigue, irritability, and cravings for more sugar to fix the very problem sugar originally caused.
Eating more protein, fat, and fibre around carbohydrates helps to flatten out our blood sugar curves resulting in a much more steady energy through the day.
