In a study testing which parts of a mindfulness questionnaire earn their place, noticing what you feel came out backwards. The people who scored highest on noticing also scored highest on worry and on replaying thoughts. Everyone was measured once, so this is a pattern, not a cause, and none of them were meditators. A questionnaire covering fifteen emotional habits was given to two separate sets of people. Every habit went with every other one: whoever reads a room well also tends to hold up under pressure. Not perfectly, and the overlap is a long way from total. See your own spread at teique.com.

Students who said they handled emotions well were more engaged with their studies, but not directly. The whole of that link ran through how able they felt to plan and steer their own future. Take that middle step away and the connection disappears. Everyone was measured once, at one moment, so it's a pattern rather than a cause.

There isn't one correct way to be. Being quiet and self-contained can beat being expressive when you're concentrating alone on something, and in another situation it flips. That comes from the theory these questionnaires are built on rather than from one result: no profile is the one everyone should be aiming at.

Almost everyone who conducts job interviews believes they are good at it. That is a measured finding, not a cheap observation.

In a large survey, fewer than a third of interviewers had any formal interview training. They were still confident they could pick the best candidates. That confidence was not related to how structured the interview was.

A loosely run conversation and a carefully designed interview are not two versions of the same method. And "we use the same questions" is not the same as structure.

This is part 1 of 3 on building the interview first.

The first fight is against yourself.

You can spend huge amounts of time analysing the external problem and skip the person who has to solve it. Nerves, fear, and the chance of failing after all the preparation are part of the work.

Resilience is not telling yourself to be tougher. It starts with a clearer picture of how you typically experience and manage your emotional world.

Under pressure, do you actually know what happens in you, or are you guessing?

Hiring is often treated like a vibe: a gut interview, a CV, and a confident call.

That is a weak guide to who will perform. Years of experience on paper barely help. Unstructured chats make people surer, not better. The cheap upgrade is structure: same role-based questions, same order, scored before the panel talks. Then add a validated assessment as one selection input, not the only one.

What do you trust more than you should in hiring: the CV, the chat, or both?

Nearly half of single Americans now say dating is not financially worth it. The average date costs $189.

Fair question. Matching personality types are a weaker guide than people think. What seems to matter more is how you typically understand, manage, and use emotions (trait emotional intelligence). People higher on that tend to be more satisfied with their partners, even years later.

If you had to choose a partner lens tomorrow, what would you trust more: a type label, or a clearer read of emotional patterns?
