You may find yourself chatting to Jax over the summer as she’s helping out with the day-to-day running of A Fine Balance, and we couldn’t be happier to have her supporting the team.

If you’ve already met Jax, you’ll know just how knowledgeable, encouraging and down-to-earth she is. With years of experience across Yoga, Pilates, Strength, Barre and Personal Training… and so much more, she’s an incredible movement coach with a real talent for helping people move better, feel stronger and build confidence.

Behind the scenes, Jax is just as brilliant. She always goes above and beyond to look after the studio, making sure everything runs smoothly and that AFB always feels welcoming, calm and shipshape!

2016–2017 🤎

I was 29.

I was working full-time in my “proper” job at Business in the Community (shout out, amazing 🩵, but one weekend a month—and every spare moment in between—I escaped to my yoga teacher training.

I didn’t have a plan. I just knew I wanted to practice yoga more deeply. I wanted more balance, more perspective and a practice that supported me through life.

In May 2017, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga London. A few months later, I used my annual leave to fly to Ibiza for Yin Yoga training. It was emotional, challenging, inspiring… and something shifted.

Fast forward nine years…

Thousands of classes taught.

Two amazing studios.

Get to work with an incredible team of teachers.

A community that means the world to me.

None of it was mapped out. It all started with one slightly scary decision to sign up for a yoga teacher training.

It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been one of the most rewarding times of my life.

And that’s why this next chapter feels so special.

This January, we’re launching the very first A Fine Balance 200 Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training.

Over 11 months, you’ll learn from teachers who haven’t just taught yoga—they’ve built successful careers, thriving communities and years of real-world teaching experience. Alongside me (A Fine Balance | Dunmow & Essex), lead trainer Shanel Nolan and an incredible team of guest experts, we’ll share everything we’ve learnt along the way.

Whether your dream is to teach or you simply want to deepen your practice, this training is about so much more than learning postures. You’ll explore yoga beyond the mat, immerse yourself in the Eight Limbs, build confidence, dedicate time to your own growth and become part of an inspiring community.

After almost 9 years of building A Fine Balance, teaching thousands of classes, mentoring instructors and growing two thriving yoga studios, I'm so excited to finally share something that's been years in the making.

Bookings are now open for the **A Fine Balance 200 Hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training**, starting in **January 2027** in **Saffron Walden, Essex**.

We've created the training we wish we'd taken.

This isn't just about learning postures. It's about becoming a confident, knowledgeable and adaptable yoga teacher through practical teaching experience, intelligent sequencing, anatomy, philosophy, inclusive teaching and real-world career guidance from people who teach every week and have built successful yoga businesses.
