🚨 Important update for Dental Care Professionals (DCPs) 🚨

If you’ve been struggling to renew your GDC registration because of issues with the new MyGDC system, the GDC has issued an important update.

✅ You will NOT be removed from the register because of MyGDC technical issues provided you contact the GDC before the deadline. (General Dental Council)

📅 What you need to do before 11:59pm on Friday 31 July 2026:
• Email [email protected]
• Include your name and GDC number
• Confirm that you have attempted to renew but have experienced problems using MyGDC. (General Dental Council)

If you do this by the deadline:
✔️ You will remain on the GDC register
✔️ You can continue to practise
✔️ The GDC will contact you to help complete your renewal once the issue has been resolved. (General Dental Council)

The GDC has acknowledged that the rollout of the new MyGDC system has caused difficulties for some registrants and has apologised for the disruption. It is also increasing customer support capacity while these issues are addressed. (General Dental Council)

👉 If you haven’t yet attempted your renewal, don’t leave it until the last minute. Try logging into MyGDC as soon as possible and, if you experience problems, make sure you notify the GDC before the deadline.

Please note that the UCL Eastman Dental Institute will be closed over the Easter period and will reopen on Wednesday 8th April 2026.

During this time, we are supporting the Easter Switch Off Campaign, which encourages staff and students to turn off non-essential electronics, lighting, and heating during holiday breaks (Christmas and Easter) to reduce carbon emissions and save on energy costs. However, we are also encouraging everyone to switch off from work, rest, recharge, and prioritise wellbeing.

We hope everyone takes this opportunity to have a restful break and spend time doing the things that help you relax and reset.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Wednesday 8th April.

Throwback Thursday ✨🦷
As part of the UCL200 Bicentenary celebrations, the UCL Eastman Dental Institute took visitors on a hands-on journey through time from messy “old school” impression trays to sleek digital iTero scanning! 😄
Our stand was brought to life by Institute Director Prof Dave Spratt, our fantastic Eastman Dental Nurse team Oriana, Linet, Yuliyana & Sabrina, and our Investigation & Skills Manager Victoria Hoskins  sharing smiles, skills and a few laughs along the way. University College London is still pushing dental innovation forward, one impression at a time.
