Helping Hands is a family run and owned home care company that has been supporting families with unique and high quality care since 1989. Our Home Care in Wimbledon team helps people each and every day to live comfortably at home with conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, MS, a spinal injury, or life after a stroke. Expertly trained, committed and compassionate, they're supporting families throughout Wimbledon, Merton, Kingston, Wandsworth and other parts of south west London. Our fully trained carers and personal assistants offer personal care, dementia care, mobility and medication support, housekeeping help, and companionship and help in pursuing the lifestyle you want.

Communication is about more than just words. For someone living with Alzheimer’s or dementia, finding the right words can sometimes be difficult. Small changes in how we communicate can make a big difference.
✨ Speak slowly and use short sentences
✨ Give them time to respond
✨ Maintain eye contact and use their name
✨ Stay calm and patient
✨ Avoid correcting or arguing
✨ Use gestures and visual cues when helpful
✨ Focus on feelings, not just facts
Most importantly, every conversation is an opportunity to help someone feel heard, respected and understood. 💜
