Home Visit Acupuncture Treatment – Right Thenar Fat Pad Inflammation

Today, I treated a patient with right thenar fat pad inflammation caused by repetitive lifting of heavy luggage during frequent travel.

From a TCM perspective, the treatment focused on promoting blood circulation, relieving pain, and unblocking the meridians. Acupuncture points included LU10 (Yuji), LI4 (Hegu), LI5 (Yangxi), LU9 (Taiyuan), LU7 (Lieque), LI6 (Pianli), SJ5 (Waiguan), and Ashi points over the most tender area.

Gentle electroacupuncture (2–4 Hz, 15–20 minutes) was applied. After the treatment, the patient reported 70–80% improvement, with significantly less pain and improved comfort in the right hand.
