One of my best and oldest friends has made a song dedicated to me 🥹
Wendy is currently learning how to produce music with her lyrics and voice. This is something she has been dabbling in quietly for years but now wishes to showcase her talent more. She's super passionate about her creative process, learning how to layer and mix sounds. She writes all her own lyrics and sings them.
Her style is exactly what I adore: slinky, siren, echoes of 80s and 90s synth flavour mixed with world beats. Think Portishead, Sneaker Pimps and Lisa Hall.
Another dear friend said "it's the type of music I could imagine on something like Vampire Diaries or if ACOTAR was a Netflix series"

This track will eventually be on Spotify as part of her upcoming album!
I'm so proud of her!

It's such an honour she's made this song with me in mind. To feel seen in this way is truly special. The people who have already heard the track have said "Wow it's so YOU Katie". This would be a great track to belly dance to!
For reference: Katebet is the name of an Egyptian priestess, you can visit her decorated sarcophagus at the British Museum. She was a chantress who created and performed hymns to the gods.

It's lovely to see readers sharing their craft from spells I've written.

Solstice Serenity everyone 🌞✨
I feel this is a perfect time to show you a cover reveal for my Nidra and Dreamscapes album!
Titled Turiya Laya which is Sanskrit for the Fourth State of Consciousness and the letting go of ego.

This cover is a mock up of what it's going to be. The image is a painting by my dear friend Joanie Mitchell who is a talented batik artist, we met in Bali back in 2019 and this horse captures that dreamy free spirited quality of my tracks! When I told Joanie of the project, she was delighted to be involved.

I have been working with an incredible sound and music producer to create the ambient soundscapes to go with my narrations, she took my ideas and turned them into beautiful relaxing sounds.

I can't wait to share the tracks with you all! We are half way through the process and hope to finish and release it between Mary Magdalene's feast day and lions gate portal 🦁⚓

Oh my goodness 😍
My flabber still gets gasted, I don't think I'll ever get used to the surreal moment of watching a witchy influencer including my book in her TBR or favourites pile!
I watch content like this for book recs as a spectator, it's surreal being on the other side!

Away for a spell on a magical mini break in the countryside of Guildford. We wanted a cabin in the woods vibes, a secret getaway and chose to have limited phone use and time away from social media.
The first day was sunny but later we were blessed with a thunderstorm! Breathing in the air as the thunder rolled in whilst the birds chirped and then cosyed up in the cabin with a book and a cuppa tea to watch the lightning and rain was heaven to me.
⛈️
This place was serendipitous. It was here or a modern pod thing. We chose here because it felt closer to nature plus the owner had dogs!
Upon arrival we learned that the location sits on leylines and straddles a marsh and is surrounded by willow trees. We've befriended Julia whose cottage is close by and we spent hours chatting with her and fussing over her dogs. She felt kindred, we talked about dreams, the spirit world, life adventures and everything in-between. Just incredible nourishing conversations.
Straddling a liminal space + a wise woman in a cottage + dogs + thunderstorm gave real Hecate vibes! As I am a devotee to her, this felt just right, like she knew I needed to be there. We plan to go back.

I always find threshold places to rejuvenate me, often I seek them out, this time we just kinda stumbled on it and it was deeply healing.
