Some babies are in need of some supplementation with colostrum, expressed milk or formula. Instead of using a bottle, which would deliver the volume at a much faster and less controlled speed we can use a syringe instead. This is a safe and effective way to deliver some additional milk without risking a teat or flow preference. Watch this video to learn how to use this technique. Save for later!

Lately I been taking selfies almost daily. In the car, on a walk, at work. Is this because I’m now self obsessed? No, it’s because im making up for lost time. When I was at my heaviest weight I barely took any pictures. I hardly have any with my kids when they were little because I thought me being in the picture would spoil it. I regret this so much because I can’t turn back time.
Now I am learning to love myself, I am building my confidence and I am taking those pictures of myself and with my kids. I don’t want to regret this again.

I know that sharing gym content isn’t what everyone wants to see. I know it can be triggering and annoying. This isn’t why I set up this account and I promise I will be posting more of my original content soon. But I want to share my journey in order to inspire others to change their lives for the better. My life has taken a 180 degree turn and I desperately want to keep doing what I’m doing as I never felt so healthy and strong. I feel like I’ve risen like a phoenix from the ashes.
For the last year I have been working with my incredible PT , who has given me the guidance, motivation and encouragement I needed throughout this journey and I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without him.

In a world full of advice on how to be skinny, I am building the strongest and most resilient version of myself. I am fuelling my body with food that is good for me. I don’t starve myself, I ensure I eat plenty of protein and fiber and enough calories to sustain me during my workouts.
It has been proven time and time again that muscle mass is directly correlated to longevity. Muscle is a metabolically active tissue, it reduces blood sugar and increases insulin sensitivity. Resistance training directly improves bone density by mechanical stress on the bones, reducing the long term risk for osteoporosis and fall related fractures.
Strength training is the number one tool for longevity. Starving yourself on a 1000 calorie diet isn’t!

I have been a mum for 17 years. Raising 4 kids and building a career at the same time took all of my physical and mental capacity. I thought was prioritising myself is selfish. I realised one day that I hit rock bottom. I was morbidly obese, unfit, ashamed of myself and a really poor role model for my kids. I needed to make a drastic change.
I have lost myself for years. I am finally finding myself again. Now is my time!

Many of you have asked what my secret is. There is no secret, I am sharing it here with you. I was diagnosed with PCOS in my teenage years and have been yo-yo dieting since a very young age. Weight loss was always possible and I have lost 20-25kg several times but I never managed to sustain it. With every one of my 4 pregnancies I put on more weight until I got to the point where I needed to lose 60kg. Now I’m almost there, my BMI reduced from 44, which put me in the morbidly obese category to now 24.5, which is in the healthy weight range. A lot of hard work, discipline and determination was needed, and I am well aware that the hardest part, which is maintaining this weightloss is still to come. I have completely changed my life style, going to the gym is a fixture in my day and I am still using GLP-1 medication to help regulate my metabolism. Since obesity is a chronic disease I might be using the medication in some form and dose for the rest of my life. It is important for me that people understand that this is not cheating. Just like we treat high blood pressure or under function of the thyroid with medication, obesity will need treatment too. But the medication certainly doesn’t replace healthy eating and exercise (weightlifting and cardio).

I have some incredible people in my life who made this all possible and I will be forever grateful for their support and for cheering me on. Thank you so much to the best PT I could wish for , I could have never done this without you

What would I do without my sister?

Just a couple of years ago the gym was a place that scared me. I felt out of place, ashamed to even set foot in it. I thought everyone will laugh at me and judge me for being obese and unfit. But my fears couldn’t be further from the truth. I found a place that is now my respite, keeps me sane, gives me energy, and the mental and physical strength I was lacking. Turns out the gym community is actually never judgmental, quite the opposite, no one would ever laugh at anyone making a start. My exceptional PT is instrumental in this journey. He helped me to get over my initial fears, he continues to encourage me and pushes me further than I thought possible. I am forever grateful for his guidance and support

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) can be treated really well with Botulinum Toxin. It will last around 6-12 months and can be life changing. Sweaty palms can be really awkward, constant wet patches under the armpits can mean this will determine which clothes you choose. Many people chose black or white tops only to hide those marks. Excessive sweating in the face, on the forehead or the bridge of the nose can be even more difficult to manage.
