Some moments stay with you …

I'm unable to share the name of the organisation due to a confidentiality agreement, but I can say how grateful I am to have been invited to deliver a workshop on burnout recovery and supporting a more resilient nervous system.

One of my favourite parts of this work is watching people realise that burnout isn't simply about being tired or needing a holiday. More often than not, it's the nervous system signalling that it has been carrying far more than it was ever designed to.

Those moments of understanding are incredibly powerful. You can almost see the shift as people realise they aren't failing, they're responding exactly as the human body does under prolonged stress.

Receiving this thoughtful gift at the end of the workshop was completely unexpected and deeply appreciated.

Thank you for such a warm welcome and for trusting me with your team.
These conversations matter. When people feel supported, workplaces become healthier, teams become stronger and leaders are better equipped to lead with empathy and understanding. I'm grateful to play a small part in that journey.

Here's to creating workplaces where people don't just perform, they genuinely thrive. 🤍

I'm curious... what do you think organisations still misunderstand about burnout?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Warm regards,

Gia Jon

Real strength isn't just carrying on.

Sometimes it's consciously choosing yourself.

Not forever.
Not at the expense of your responsibilities.
Not disappearing from your life.

Just long enough to hear yourself again.

For years, I thought I was beyond support. I didn't know what I needed, and I didn't know how to explain it without feeling like I was burdening someone else or casting a shadow over their day.

So I kept going.

Many people do.

Then one day they realise they've become an expert at looking after everyone except themselves.

One of the healthiest things you can do is intentionally create space for yourself.

Take yourself for breakfast.
Go for a walk without headphones.
Visit a gallery.
Sit by the sea.
Book that massage.
Spend a weekend somewhere peaceful.
Read the book that's been gathering dust.
Do something that reminds you who you are when nobody needs anything from you.

Not to escape your life.

To reconnect with it.

Some people have never experienced intentional time alone. They've only experienced loneliness or constant responsibility.

There's a difference.

Solitude can become one of the safest places to meet yourself again.

Real strength isn't proving you can carry everything.

Sometimes it's having the wisdom to put it down for a while.

Ever heard of Inversion Theory?

Popularised by Charlie Munger and embraced by successful thinkers including Warren Buffett, inversion turns problem-solving on its head.

Instead of asking:

"How do I succeed?"

It asks:

"What could cause me to fail?"
"What mistakes should I avoid?"
"What risks haven't I considered?"

Charlie Munger famously said:

"All I want to know is where I'm going to die, so I'll never go there."

The idea isn't new. Similar thinking can be traced back to the Stoics, who practised premeditatio malorum, imagining potential challenges in advance so they could meet them with wisdom rather than panic.

This approach is used in business, medicine, aviation, engineering and many other fields where anticipating problems helps prevent them.

So, if you're someone who naturally asks, "What could go wrong?" before making a decision, that doesn't necessarily mean you're being negative.

There is a difference between anxiety that keeps us stuck and thoughtful preparation that helps us move forward with confidence.

We all think differently.

Some people visualise success.

Others identify obstacles and plan around them.

Neither approach is inherently better.

If your way of thinking helps you make better decisions and navigate life more effectively, perhaps it doesn't need fixing after all.

There are many ways to navigate life.
Sometimes the goal isn't to change how you think, but to understand yourself well enough to use your mind wisely.

A 7-Day Juice & Nourishment Protocol for Autoimmune Health, Joint Pain & Mental Wellbeing - By Gia Jon

There’s something I see a lot in my work.

People come in with physical symptoms — joint pain, fatigue, gut issues, flare-ups — and they’ve usually been looking at it purely from a physical angle.

At the same time, they’ll say things like:
“I feel foggy.”
“I’m more anxious than usual.”
“I just don’t feel like myself.”

These things are not separate.

The inflammation sitting in the body…
often sits in the brain too.

This isn’t just a holistic idea. It’s backed by research in psychoneuroimmunology and the gut-brain axis — showing that what’s happening in your immune system and your gut directly affects mood, clarity, and emotional regulation.

So when we talk about supporting the body, we’re also supporting the mind.

This isn’t about perfection or strict rules.
It’s about creating the right conditions for your system to settle.

A Quick Grounding Before You Start
This is not a detox.

You don’t need to starve yourself, cut everything out, or do anything extreme.

This is about:

reducing what’s aggravating your system
supporting your gut and nervous system
keeping things simple and consistent

The juices here are supportive.
They are not replacing meals.

I came across this photo and it made me pause.

I’d got into a small space trying to show my dog how appealing it could be. At the time, it felt harmless. Just a bit of play.

Looking at it afterwards, something stood out. At first I tried to sit in a way that made it work. Then I stopped adjusting and just sat as I normally would.

The mismatch is obvious. I didn’t fit.
It’s a simple image, but it reflects something I see often in both professional and personal environments.

People spend a lot of time trying to make situations work.
They adjust how they speak, how they show up, what they tolerate.
Not always because it’s right, but because it feels easier than questioning the situation itself.
Over time, that adjustment becomes normal. Even if you find it hard to exist in that, what initially felt uncomfortable starts to feel acceptable.

Clarity usually comes later.
When there’s enough distance to see things as they are, rather than how we were trying to make them.

This shows up in teams, leadership environments, and relationships more than people realise.

Fitting is not the same as belonging.

Are you still adjusting yourself to fit something that doesn’t fit you?
