Heatwaves can be especially dangerous for older adults 🌞

As temperatures rise, let's look out for the seniors in our families and communities.

💧 Encourage them to drink plenty of water, even if they don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Keep their home cool by closing curtains during the hottest part of the day.
🧢 Avoid going outside between 11am and 3pm if possible.
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.
📞 A quick phone call or visit can make all the difference - check they're safe, comfortable, and have everything they need.

Small acts of kindness can help prevent heat-related illness and could even save a life.

As part of , we're highlighting advice and reflections from members of our care team on the ways they nurture connection in their own lives 💛

Our carers support others to live independently and stay connected within their communities every day. Their experiences also remind us of the importance of making time for meaningful relationships, peer support and moments of wellbeing.

We're proud to foster a culture where our teams feel valued, supported and connected, and we're grateful to our carers for sharing the tips that help them maintain their own sense of belonging.

This , we're celebrating the incredible people who make a difference every day through compassion, dedication and genuine human connection ❤️

In our latest blog, one of our experienced carers shares their journey in care and reflects on the rewarding relationships they've built over more than 30 years of supporting clients in their own homes. Their story is a reminder that great care is about much more than practical support ~ it's about trust, understanding and helping people live life on their own terms.

As Carers Week 2026 highlights the importance of building carer-friendly communities, we'd like to thank all carers for the vital role they play in supporting individuals, families and communities across the UK.

🚁 A Day to Remember on the Jurassic Coast! 🌊

Our live-in care client, HB, enjoyed an unforgettable helicopter ride along the stunning Jurassic Coast at the weekend, accompanied by her carer Donna and two close friends.

From breathtaking coastal views to wonderful company, it was a truly special experience that created lasting memories for everyone involved. We're delighted that they shared some fantastic photos with us from their adventure!

At The Good Care Group, we believe live-in care is about supporting people to continue enjoying the experiences they love, making new memories, and living life to the fullest.

Thank you to HB, Donna and friends for sharing your amazing day with us. 💙

Dementia Action Week 2026: Why compassionate support matters more than ever 🏡

Dementia Action Week is an important reminder that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, a history, and a life that still deserves to be lived fully and meaningfully.

At The Good Care Group, we know that when dementia becomes part of family life, it can bring uncertainty alongside love, resilience, and a desire to do the very best for someone important to you.

For many people, the biggest question is not simply what happens next? But how can we help someone continue to feel safe, comfortable, and themselves?

Mental Health Awareness Month reminds us that emotional wellbeing is an essential part of overall care.

At The Good Care Group, we know that compassionate support goes beyond physical care. Feeling safe, listened to, and connected can make a meaningful difference to mental wellbeing, especially for those living with loneliness, anxiety, depression, or complex health conditions.

That’s why we’re proud to provide person-centred care that supports independence, dignity, and emotional wellbeing in the comfort of home. From companionship and daily reassurance to specialist mental health support, our carers are there to help people feel supported every step of the way.

This month, we encourage everyone to check in on one another, make space for conversations, and remember that support is always important - no matter your age or circumstances.

Because caring for mental health matters every day. 💚
