Your health shouldn’t be pushed into a one-size-fits-all.💡

Some patients are looking for routine screening and reassurance. Others may be navigating ongoing symptoms, hormonal changes, fertility questions, or simply want a more comprehensive understanding of their health.

That’s why we’ve developed three consultant-led Well Woman Assessments: Core, Enhanced and Complete.💕

Each assessment includes:
✔ Consultation with an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist
✔ Pelvic ultrasound scan
✔ Cervical screening (HP20 co-test)
✔ Personalised review of your medical history, symptoms and concerns
✔ Follow-up consultation to discuss your results
✔ Personalised report with recommendations and next steps

The difference lies in the depth of assessment and range of investigations included.

Our Enhanced and Complete assessments include broader blood testing, allowing us to explore areas such as iron levels, thyroid function, cholesterol, blood sugar and hormonal health in greater detail.

For those seeking our most comprehensive assessment, the Complete package also includes a nutrition consultation, mammogram and DEXA bone density scan, providing a wider view of long-term health and wellbeing.

Whether you’re looking to stay on top of your health, investigate symptoms that don’t feel quite right, gain reassurance, or seek a second opinion, our team will help guide you towards the assessment that’s right for you.

It’s Menstrual Health Day 💕

Periods are natural, normal, and nothing to be ashamed of. ⁣But for millions, it’s more than just a period. ⁣

Debilitating pelvic pain, missing cycles, and severe mood shifts are not just “part of a period.” They are medical symptoms of underdiagnosed gynaecological conditions that deserve answers, treatment, and support.⁣

Swipe through to learn the reality behind:⁣

🎗️ Endometriosis: Affecting 1 in 10, yet taking an average of 9 years to diagnose.⁣
🩵PMOS: A hormonal imbalance where up to 70% of individuals remain undiagnosed.⁣
🧠 PMDD: A severe neurological reaction to hormonal changes, not just “bad PMS.”⁣

Severe menstrual symptoms are medical conditions, not a normal rite of passage. You know your body best. Never stop advocating for your health. ⁣

We’re bringing In Practice into the room. 💙

After starting as a webinar series, we’re now launching our first in-person GP events — creating space for more open and practical conversations.

Across our upcoming sessions, we’ll be covering:

• fibroids & endometriosis
• adolescent gynaecology
• cervical risk & when to investigate

All through a case-led, real-world lens.

📍 Harley Street | 11 June
📍 Richmond | 17 June & 1 July

These evenings are designed to be genuinely useful — a chance to share perspectives, ask questions and support decision-making in day-to-day practice.

If you’d like to attend, or explore how we can support your patients through imaging or referrals, get in touch or follow the link in our bio. 📲

We look forward to seeing you there!

PCOS is officially being renamed to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS).

For years, many clinicians and patients have pointed out that “polycystic o***y syndrome” never fully reflected the complexity of the condition. Not everyone with PCOS has ovarian cysts, and for many the impact extends far beyond reproductive health.

Hormones, metabolism, skin, mental wellbeing, fertility and long-term health can all be affected, yet the name itself often narrowed understanding of the condition.

Whilst a name change won’t solve everything, better understanding is a good place to start and is another step towards better care for patients. 💡

For Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re highlighting an important conversation: not every mental health symptom exists separately from physical or hormonal health.

Conditions like PMDD can have a profound impact on mood, anxiety, relationships, sleep, work and day-to-day functioning, yet many spend years being dismissed or told their symptoms are simply “part of having a period”.

This year’s theme is action.

Action can mean recognising patterns earlier, asking better questions, and understanding that cyclical psychological symptoms may have an underlying hormonal cause.

 As Dr Claire Phipps explains:

“Patients are often made to feel they should simply tolerate severe cyclical symptoms, when in reality PMDD can significantly affect mental wellbeing and quality of life. Earlier recognition and open conversations can make a huge difference to how quickly they access appropriate support.”

PMDD affects an estimated 1 in 20 menstruating individuals, yet remains widely under-recognised.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re encouraging more conversations around the connection between hormonal health and mental health.

To celebrate Nurses Week, we’d like to take a moment to talk about our incredible nursing team at London Gynaecology. 💙

From providing support during appointments to delivering expert clinical care, our Nurses and HCA’s play an essential role in supporting our patients through every stage of their health journey.

We spoke to a Marta, Shauna and Zamzam from our team to hear about what drew them to nursing, what inspires them and what they enjoy most about their role. 💡

✨ A very exciting milestone for us ✨

After months of planning, writing, editing and pulling together perspectives from across the team, we can officially announce that our inaugural In Practice: Annual Review 2025 is now live!

Bringing together clinical insight, team perspectives and wider women’s health data, the report reflects a number of themes that are becoming increasingly clear in practice. 💡

We’re hugely proud of this piece of work and of everyone involved in making it happen. Here are a few sneak peeks into some of the articles included in our report.

The full report is now available to download and read via the link in our bio and in the comments below. 📲

The updated Women’s Health Strategy is out and we see a focus particularly around diagnosis, symptom recognition and patient experience.💡

These are not new challenges. They’ve been well recognised across our sector for some time.

What feels more significant is the shift in emphasis: from simply acknowledging these gaps, to asking how they are addressed in practice, and where accountability sits across the pathway.

Because improving access is only part of the picture.
Consistency in how symptoms are assessed, how decisions are made, and how care is delivered day-to-day will ultimately determine whether meaningful change is achieved.

The direction is encouraging. The focus now is on how this translates into real, measurable improvements in care. 💙

As part of our In Practice: The Period Gap series, we are excited to announce that our next session will explore the point at which changes in bleeding patterns may need to be considered as abnormal.

“It’s Not ‘Just a Period’: Understanding Cervical Health” will be led by Miss Sapna Shah, Consultant Gynaecologist, and will focus on the gap that can exist between how symptoms are interpreted and when further investigation is needed.

The session will cover:

✨ common misconceptions around HPV
✨ when abnormal bleeding should prompt further assessment
✨ the role of cervical screening in clinical decision-making
✨ how to approach these conversations with patients

This is part of our wider focus on creating space for more practical, clinically relevant discussions, grounded in day-to-day practice for medical professionals.

Ovarian cancer isn’t always “silent” - but its symptoms are often easy to overlook.

Only around 1 in 5 cases are diagnosed early, which is why recognising the signs matters.

As Miss Sapna Shah explains, it’s not just what the symptoms are, but how often they happen. Persistent bloating, pelvic pain, feeling full quickly, or needing to urinate more often, especially if this is happening most days, shouldn’t be ignored. 💡

There is currently no screening test that provides certainty for ovarian cancer, and smear tests do not detect it so knowing what to look for is key.

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s always worth getting checked. 💙
