Our Occupational Therapy team is running a workshop focused on supporting children (11 - 18 years) with their sensory processing needs.

Here’s to creating inclusive spaces 🙌

The theatre is a BEAUTIFUL space where we can explore some of the most complex parts of being human - love, loss, injustice, hope, identity - powerful stories and journeys that can sometimes mirror our own.

For many people, especially those living with trauma or sensory sensitivities, being given clear information about potential triggers isn’t about spoiling the story - it’s about creating safety and choice (sounds empowering right!)

If we know what themes or sensory elements might arise, we can prepare, bring coping strategies or simply make an empowered decision about whether/how to engage.

Yes, it may take extra thought and effort, but it TRANSFORMS an experience - making theatre more inclusive and giving everyone the chance to connect with the story in the way that feels safe and meaningful. Thank you team 👏👏👏

Fantastic CFT Essentials training from The Association for Psychological Therapies (APT) 🙌 Really reminded me of the incredible IFS work of Richard Schwartz where compassion becomes the bridge between our different ‘parts’. Both wonderful approaches highlight the transformative power of relating to our inner world with kindness, courage and curiosity 🩷
