Ahead of the 50th anniversary of its unveiling, Kenward & Son had the privelidge of carrying out full renovation works (swipe for results) to the Katyn Memorial at Gunnersbury Cemetery. This memorial sits in the cemetery of the cemetery and honours the Polish prisoners of war and officers murdered in the Katyn massacre of 1940.
These works included fully re-gilding the inscriptions. Fully renovating all of the stone blocks including cleaning, removing former pointing and repointing. Repair blocks in multiple areas. Replace old path edging with matching Portland edging. Fully renovate paving.

An exciting development this week as the old roof has been removed from the old garage at our White Lion Road site and demolition has begun.
Over the next couple of weeks the old buildings will be taken down slowly and carefully. As the site backs onto the Metropolitan Underground Line, careful demolition is very important.
We look forward to showing more progress updates as things take shape!

Our 5 Branch Location’s 🪦
- Greenford/Hanwell has been our Home since 1888 where the company began. This area is home to our workshop & Head Office.
- Yiewsley was our 2nd branch, opened in the early 2010’s with a view to expand our service into Hillingdon & the surrounding areas.
- Hampton Wick was our first venture outside of our known boroughs. Opening in 2018, Hampton wick is a great location to serve Richmond, Kingston, Sutton, Merton, Croydon and other local boroughs.
- Kensal Green was our first R. Munday & Son branch following our acquisition of the company in 2018. R. Munday has been serving the communities of North West London since 1918 having been established locally in Willesden.
- Manor Park is our most recently opened branch, taking us into East London and expending our services to a side of London we have traditionally not served. We have been delighted with the welcome we have received in the area and look forward to working alongside some historic cemeteries.

A bespoke commissioned memorial with some of the finest carving we have had the pleasure of completing. The hand carved flower design wraps round the edges of this Shell White Granite stone, finished with custom fabricated steel troughs.

We often get told by families that they can barely believe the memorials are the same as they were before renovated. This feedback is our absolute favourite thing to hear!
