Davis Emotional Well-being

Davis Emotional Well-being Anthony (MBACP) is an experienced counsellor, psychotherapist, coach and mental health consultant

As individuals, I believe we have different needs when looking for therapeutic support. I strongly believe that therapy can provide beneficial improvements in mental well-being and the decision making that is right for us. I have over 10 years experience working as a counselor and psychotherapist with individuals of various age groups and diverse backgrounds. Practicing in both the United States

and the United Kingdom, I have worked with clients exhibiting a range of difficulties that impact their lives and cause them emotional and psychological distress. I have worked in both the local authority and the NHS as a social care manager, counselor and therapist in a GP surgery. I offer my clients a confidential space where we can explore together difficulties you may experience. I am happy to be contacted to arrange an initial session to discuss what you want to achieve from working together.

Grateful to have contributed to the Justice in Therapy: Decolonising the Curriculum conference at the on Saturday, hosted by

I had the privilege of presenting my published research co-authored with , Humanising psychotherapy training in the UK: Views on decolonising Eurocentric frameworks in trauma-informed care for Black q***r men. The work examines how psychotherapy training can better engage with the complex lived experiences of ethnic and sexual minority clients and begin to address the structural inequities embedded within therapeutic training and practice.

Thank you to for creating such a vital space for dialogue, critical reflection, and meaningful change.

‘Black Men, Trauma & Therapy: Revolutionising Therapeutic Thought & Practice’ has officially been published! https://lnkd.in/ek3FMtaQ

I’m honoured to have contributed a chapter, ‘From Silence to Empowerment: Decolonising Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Support for Black Q***r Men.’

In this chapter, I explore the intersecting impacts of racism, homophobia, and hyper-masculinity on the mental health of Black q***r men, experiences that remain underrepresented in UK therapeutic practice. My intention is to support practitioners in adopting decolonised, intersectional, and q***r-affirming approaches that move clients from silence towards empowerment and self-acceptance.

This book is a significant contribution to the field. I’m deeply grateful to the editors, and and to the incredible group of authors for bringing this important work to life and advancing more inclusive, culturally responsive practice.
