How can early support be helpful in addiction recovery?

Many people delay seeking help because they feel their struggles are ‘not serious enough,’ or believe they should wait until things get worse.

This belief is very common, but it can prevent people from accessing care and support at an earlier stage. Seeking support doesn’t mean you have failed. It can simply mean that you are noticing patterns, feeling open to change, or wanting things to feel more manageable🌱

At TWRC, our addiction services are available whether you are questioning, exploring or ready for more structured support.
We offer flexible, trauma-informed programmes and therapies designed to meet you where you are, in a way that feels supportive and appropriate for you.

You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to seek support. Recovery can begin earlier, and gently. Together, let’s take the first step towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.

How can Group Therapy at TWRC be an important part of recovery?🌱
Recovery can feel isolating at times, and many people carry their experiences quietly.

At TWRC, our group therapy spaces are designed to gently bring people together in a supportive, compassionate environment where experiences can be shared and acknowledged.

Hearing others speak openly about similar thoughts and challenges can have a powerful impact during recovery.

We offer compassionate, trauma-informed group spaces where you can begin your journey alongside others and move towards a healthier, more fulfilling life together 🩷

Recovery is sometimes misunderstood as something that requires control or discipline. But this is an extremely harmful misconception.
This way of thinking can increase pressure, self-criticism, and a sense of failure when change feels hard.

Sustainable, lasting change is more often supported by safety, compassion, and care. When self-care replaces control, there is more space to understand behaviours and respond to yourself with more kindness.

Recovery does not need to be rushed or perfected. Gentle, supported approaches can help create a sustainable recovery🌱
No matter where you are in your recovery journey, let’s work together to move towards a healthier future.

Dry January is a month-long campaign that encourages people to pause alcohol use during January, often with the hope of resetting their relationship with drinking and noticing potential health benefits.

For some, especially those navigating addiction or using alcohol as a coping strategy, a month of abstinence can feel restrictive or distressing. When the focus becomes counting down the days, it can take attention away from understanding thoughts, emotions, and patterns around drinking.

At TWRC, we understand the challenges of addiction, so that’s why we have decided to share a gentler approach to Dry Jan!
We hope our approach helps create space for you to think about where and how you might need support🩷

We offer compassionate, trauma-informed addiction support, including one-to-one therapy and our Reset & Rise recovery programmes.
