Today is celebrating the skills, expertise and passion that young people bring to the world.
The theme this year “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations” is a call to action recognising the diversity and interconnectedness of youth experiences.
Last month, RCPCH published the State of Child Health sharing data and recommendations from paediatricians and the sector on what needs to change for children and young people.
This year for the first time in the history of the State of Child Health, young people took on a very different role. They explored their different contexts in the nations and as children and young people, generated their own data and evidence then led on an indicator for change in emotional health and wellbeing.
This is youth Innovation and leadership at its best, embedded, equitable, inclusive and focused on what matters most to children and young people. Their work reflects the voices of more than 3,000 children and young people and demonstrates the power of meaningful participation in shaping change.
You can read more about their indicator at https://www.rcpch.us/2026/07/14/the-state-of-child-health-young-people-speak/, scroll through to see their summary version and why being involved matters to them.
