Different preparations. Different ceramic thicknesses. One optical result.

Two refractory veneers on the central incisors, each starting from a very different foundation.

The challenge is not matching the shape. It is managing how light travels through different volumes of ceramic while maintaining the same value, translucency and character in both restorations.

This is where material control becomes just as important as morphology.

Three zirconia crowns and one veneer on the lateral, blended to read as one harmonious arch.

The stumps underneath the crowns were badly discoloured, we opaqued the zirconia copings before sintering to block out the darkness, using a micro-layering technique to rebuild natural translucency and value at the incisal third, matching the veneer so the transition between restoration types disappears.

Some cases demand more than most. This patient presented with significant bone and gum recession, meaning the restorative work had to go far beyond the lab. Multiple sets of temporaries were made, appointment after appointment, refining the emergence profile and gingival architecture before a single final restoration was cut.

Anterior zirconia layered crowns and posterior emax, the result of a long and considered process between lab and clinician. The hours don't show in the final result. That's the point.

Upper and lower FP3 full-arch bridges. Upper is zirconia on a titanium bar. Lower is PMMA with a custom composite gingiva. Materials chosen deliberately to help better tolerate the contact between arches for the patient.

Shade-matching two entirely different materials is one of the more demanding aspects of this work. We're pleased with how this one came together.
