How to help yourself with a puffy face and swoleen fingers

Simple self drainage sequence

* Open the collarbone area with 5–10 gentle pumps.
* Gently stimulate the armpit 5–10 times.
* Stroke the forearm upward toward the elbow and armpit.
* Then gently stroke each finger from fingertip toward the hand.
* Move from hand to wrist, wrist to elbow, and elbow to armpit.

Use very light pressure—just enough to stretch the skin. 2-3 times a week, each time 5-10 mins on each side!

If you’re experiencing brain fog and a headache, some acupressure points are commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine to help relieve tension and promote relaxation. The scientific evidence is mixed, but many people find them soothing.

• Gently glide under the eyes to encourage lymphatic drainage and reduce puffiness.
• Press the inner brow point to soothe eye strain and support circulation.
• Massage the outer eye area to soften tension around crow’s feet.
• Sweep upward along the brow bone to create a lifted appearance of the eyelids.
• Finish by gliding toward the temples and down the neck to support drainage.

Woke up with puffy eyes this morning? It could be from eating too much salty food, drinking too much water before bed, or not getting enough sleep. Here’s a quick trick: put a teaspoon in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes. Then gently massage around your eyes using the back of the cold spoon. The cooling effect helps reduce swelling and makes your eyes look more refreshed. In just a few minutes, you’ll notice a difference.

How to achieve the best result of guasha?

1. Warm your hands by rubbing your palms together for 20–30 seconds until they feel noticeably warm.
2. Place your warm palms on your face for a few breaths, especially over the cheeks, forehead, and jaw, to gently warm the skin and underlying tissues.
3. Massage the scalp and head using your fingertips. You can make small circular motions across the scalp, around the temples, behind the ears, and at the base of the skull. This can help increase local blood flow and release tension.
4. After this, apply serum moisturizer!
5. The best result is to guasha in the evening to let your skin properly heal and regenerate!
6. If you have sensitive skin, active acne, rosacea flare-ups, sunburn, or a skin infection, it’s best to avoid or modify gua sha until the skin has recovered.

When you do gua sha 4–5 times a week, you’re likely helping with:

* Lymphatic drainage (reducing temporary puffiness)
* Increasing blood flow to the skin
* Relaxing facial muscles, especially around the jaw and forehead
* Giving the face a temporarily fuller, more refreshed appearance

Why your meal works so well

1. Excellent protein balance
• Tofu + edamame → complete plant protein with all essential amino acids
• Fermented soybeans (natto) → protein + probiotics for gut health
This combo supports muscle, energy, and satiety.

2. Healthy fats
• Extra virgin olive oil provides monounsaturated fats
• Helps absorption of fat-soluble nutrients and supports heart health

3. Powerful micronutrients
• Cherry tomatoes (cooked & skin off) → higher lycopene absorption
• Fermentation improves mineral bioavailability (iron, zinc)
• Chili flakes may help circulation and metabolism

4. Smart preparation
• Cooking tomatoes = better lycopene uptake
• Olive oil + tomatoes = perfect pairing nutritionally
• Serving oil at the end preserves antioxidants

I’ve been practicing gua sha on my face for over 10 years, and here are a few tips I swear by:

✨ Tip 1:
Count the strokes on both sides of the face to keep things balanced.

✨ Tip 2:
Avoid applying oil around the eye area to help prevent milia from forming.

✨ Tip 3:
Be extra gentle around the eyes — light pressure is more than enough.

✨ Tip 4:
Apply oil to both your face and the gua sha tool to ensure smooth, effortless movement.

Rooted in consistency, gentleness, and mindful self-care 🤍
