A question we often get is: Does fat transfer last forever?
The answer is... yes and no.
Once the transferred fat establishes a blood supply and survives the healing process, those fat cells are permanent. However, they’re still your own living fat cells, so they’ll behave just like fat anywhere else in your body.
That means if you gain weight, they can get larger. If you lose weight, they can shrink. While some of the transferred fat doesn’t survive in the first few months, the fat that does remain is considered long-lasting.
The key to maintaining your results? A stable weight, healthy lifestyle, and choosing an experienced surgeon who uses the right technique from the start.
