☕🎉 Coffee Morning with a Birthday Twist! 🎉☕

This morning’s coffee morning at our Enfield branch had a festive feel as staff and service users headed out to a local pub to celebrate James’s birthday 🥳

Everyone enjoyed food and drinks of their choice in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere — a lovely chance to socialise, strengthen connections, and celebrate together.

James shared how much he enjoyed celebrating with everyone and gave a big thank you to Antoniette for the birthday cake 🎂 and Desteny for organising the outing.

A truly enjoyable morning and a great time had by all 💛

✨ Voices of Care: What Care Means to Me ✨
📍 Antoniette, Registered Manager – Enfield Branch

This June, we’re celebrating the real voices behind our care services through our Voices of Care campaign — sharing honest reflections on what care truly means to the people who lead and deliver it every day.

Meet Antoniette, Registered Manager at our Enfield branch 👋
For Antoniette, care has always been about compassion, responsibility, and being present for others when it matters most. From her early years to her role as a Registered Manager, care has shaped who she is and how she leads, supporting people with dignity, respect, and empathy every day.

Antoniette is proud to share her story as part of Voices of Care: What Care Means to Me, celebrating the impact of care and the people who make this sector so meaningful.

📌 Policy of the Month: Body Map Policy

At Hartwig Care, keeping our clients safe and well is at the heart of everything we do. Our Body Map Policy is a vital tool that helps us identify, record, and escalate any concerns relating to injuries, skin conditions, or potential safeguarding issues.

📝 Body maps should be used to:
- Record and monitor injuries, bruising, wounds, or skin concerns
- Track changes over time to support care decisions
- Provide clear, factual evidence where safeguarding concerns arise

⏰ When should a body map be completed?
- On admission or first visit (if there is a skin concern)
- When a new injury or skin issue is identified
- Following incidents such as falls or accidents
- To monitor existing conditions and healing progress

✅ Why is this important?
Accurate recording helps with:
- Early identification of risks (e.g. pressure sores or injuries)
- Timely intervention from healthcare professionals
- Effective safeguarding through clear, objective evidence
- Ensuring continuity of care and safe decision-making

If you are a staff member at Hartwig Care, please read the “Body Map Policy” on Access Policies and Procedures and mark it as “Read”.

Together, we can maintain the highest standards of care and protect those we support. 👏

This September 19th, Bryony Sly will be taking on the Shine Night Marathon once again — running the full 26.2 miles through the night. ✨🏃‍♀️

She’s doing this in memory of her mum, who sadly passed away 13 years ago, as well as her uncle and step-aunt who passed just two days apart this January. She’s also running in memory of the service users we’ve lost to cancer. 💛

If you’re able to make a donation, it would be hugely appreciated. Please email [email protected] to arrange your contribution.

Let’s show Bryony our support — every donation makes a difference 💖

🌟 May Recognition Highlights 🌟

We’ve received an incredible amount of positive feedback about our team throughout May 💙 From clients, colleagues and even family members, it’s clear just how much of a difference you’re making every day.

While we can’t share every message, the feedback truly highlights the care, dedication and professionalism you bring to your role both in and out of the workplace. All compliments have been kept anonymous, and those recognised will be hearing from their managers or our office team soon 📞

Thank you for everything you do and for consistently going above and beyond—it never goes unnoticed 👏

If you’d like to recognise a colleague or share feedback, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact your local branch manager: 👉 https://hartwigcare.co.uk/https-hartwigcare-co-uk-contact/

🌈 Happy Pride Month from Hartwig Care 🌈

This June, we proudly stand with the LGBTQ+ community in celebrating Pride – a time to honour diversity, promote inclusion, and recognise the contributions of LGBTQ+ people everywhere.

Pride is more than celebration. It’s also about raising awareness, challenging prejudice, and continuing the journey towards equality for all.

At Hartwig Care, we are committed to creating a workplace and care environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to be their authentic selves. We know that when people feel they belong, they thrive — and so do the communities we support.

This Pride Month, we:
✅ Celebrate the diversity of our team and the people we care for
✅ Stand against discrimination in all its forms
✅ Continue learning, listening, and improving how we support inclusion

Together, let’s build a culture where everyone is valued, supported, and empowered to be themselves — not just this month, but every day.
