The Magicians of Tarot! The theme of the UKTarot Conference 2026, October 9th & 10th in central London. I'm in my homey kitchen in South London, tuning in virtually. This is the 23rd conference to date, & every year I look forward to it - a magical marker in my diary. Authors, artists, teachers, therapists, visionaries, magicians & people like you & I - all wildly enthusiastic about the fascinating subject of Tarot.

There should always be some events to look forward to when you're forward planning your diary. What are yours?

๐Ÿซ  Happy Weekend to you all.

When I was I child, I remember looking out the window at the giant sunflower growing in our vegetable patch (a tropical one, so it was big) with awe... & how when I walked up to it, it towered over me. That was one of those magical moments of my childhood. Today, in my 50s & to my delight, a neighbour a little ways from me, grows giant sunflowers in his front yard every year. As I walk past on my way to the grocery store, I smile & I remember good times...

I already do this for myself - noticing nature with the turning of the year - but today I'm officially joining Lucya Starza (since I've just seen her post about this on her site 'A Bad Witches Blog') in Rounding the Wherl of the Year. Sunflowers are for health & wisdom. And do you know, that they're also called Marigolds of Peru? ๐Ÿ™ƒ

These are some of the hats that I wear in my life, & today, is a day of gratitude ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ.

I've been counting my blessings, & I have particular appreciation for all the people that refer querents my way; for my therapy practice, or for whatever else they have faith that I can assist with.

Tutors, colleagues, friends, family, clients, & everyone in-between - resulting in such interesting people walking through my door. Intreagued & challenged, I learn so much from all of them.

This state of engagement was iniciated over 30years ago - when I sat in my interview at Raworth International & said: "I'd like to become an all-round health guru" (using "finger quotes" in the air & smiling sheepishly at the head mistress. Her name was Norma Williams).

I have succeeded! (with my perculiar brand of "all-rounder" ๐Ÿ˜‰). And, I continue to grow & change along the way.

It's good to stop & take stock of how far you've come, and to remember how lucky you are.

Happy Weekend!

Time for a tiny oracle card reading ๐Ÿ™ƒ. I have pulled The Jaguar - "reclaim your spiritual power, seek guidance from your ancestors to manifest your desired change". Interesting, that I was just in the most excellent Perry Ukueku shop in Crystal Palace this morning, talking about regression therapy, ancestors, & past lives to the engaging proprietor ๐Ÿค“. Hmmmmm.

Well there's a little piece of magical wisdom for my day.

Have a great day everyone!

Animal Omen of the day. An Elephant. Can you see it? With it's trunk beginning to fade. As a member of a Tarot Readers forum, this is one of the communal games we like to play - what's the 1st bird or animal that you notice in your day... & when you notice it, what is it doing? What message could that convey for you?

Well I've just finished rushing about like a headless chicken, squeezing in a grocery shop just before my work day begins (on account of people & machinery being on melt-down in our heatwave here in London, & things therefore being cancelled &/or not going to plan), & I looked up & saw this.

Now elephants symbolize family & community cohesion, strength, & wisdom - & they are matriarchal...& this morning when I walked out the door I had just had a tiff with my mother - due to more brain melt-down in this heatwave.

So....
I guess I must look to my familial bonds today ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ™ƒ.

Keep hydrated & pace yourselves.

Well, good heavens! as they say... I've never yet seen Venus so perfectly placed above the maiden moon in the west. The Evening Star (Venus appearing in the sky shortly after sunset), symbolises guidance, transition & peace into the dark realm of rest, introspection & meditation... Perhaps this is a most apt omen for me - having just signed my name to a teacher training meditation course & read the 1st chapter of a rather large (to my horror) recommended book for it.

Before compases, Venus was know as The Shephards Star & used as a reliable navigation beacon. I read that she also symbolizes wisdom, accomplishment & grace in later years of life. On this - I can only say - I aspire, & I hope so!

Sweet dreams!

Consulting a Norse oracle over morning tea... ๐Ÿง™๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ. This beautiful set of Futhark runes (ethically sourced) is by .
My grasp of Norse runes is rudimentary so I mostly have to look them up when I cast them - sometimes it's quite a puzzel to work out. A little fun on my morning off from being a therapist.

"We are a part of the Natural World, We are not separate from nature..." Priveledged to have this magnificent creature on my arm for a fleeting moment...a treasured memory ๐Ÿ™‚. I don't remember anything else (at all!) about this trip - except for the presence of the raptor.
Today is Sir David Attenbotough's 100th birthday (8th May, 2026). Join me in lifting a glass in salute to him, for all he has done for our planet & our awareness of it's majesty.

Happy Birthday David!
