Recently, we visited Harrow Mosque with our lovely resident from Kent House Care Home , who had the chance to pray and spend some peaceful time there. It was even more special having her daughter join us too. Her happiness and pride were lovely to see 🕋💜

Our resident was so focused while reading and praying, and it was wonderful to see how much the visit meant to her. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious lunch of saag, butter chicken, rice, naan and, of course, sweet lassi. A very special day for everyone 🤲🥰

On 28th August, we joined in the beautiful Hindu celebrations of Raksha Bandhan, Purnima, Varalakshmi Vrat and Narali Purnima at Kent House Care Home 🕉️

These celebrations bring together themes of family, devotion, blessings and prosperity. Raksha Bandhan, in particular, celebrates the special bond between brothers and sisters, with a rakhi traditionally tied as a symbol of love and protection.

One of our residents had the opportunity to visit the Hindu temple, where they prayed and took part in the festivities. It was a lovely and meaningful experience, and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate culture and tradition 💜

As summer comes to an end, we’re looking back at some of our August highlights across Gold Care Homes ☀️💜

With plenty of summer sunshine, our homes found ways to enjoy the summer while keeping cool, with ice creams and ice cream van visits proving particularly popular! 🍦

We also put the kettle on for Afternoon Tea Week, enjoyed some well-earned downtime for National Relaxation Day and made the most of the Summer Bank Holiday.

International Day at Kent House Care Home was a lovely celebration of the different cultures within our home 🌍💜

Our wonderful residents enjoyed trying a wonderful selection of dishes from India, Romania, Ghana and Italy, while members of our team proudly wore traditional clothing from Ghana and Hungary. There was plenty to talk about, taste and enjoy throughout the day.

A big thank you to Harvinder, Diana, Ritu, Alex and Ruth for preparing such delicious food, and to everyone who helped make the day so special. It was a lovely opportunity to celebrate the diversity of our Kent House community 🥰

We had a lovely weekend outing from Kent House Care Home to Harrow Garden Centre🌸☀️

Our wonderful residents enjoyed having a wander around the flowers and plants, taking in all the colours and enjoying the fresh air. Of course, we couldn’t leave without stopping for a cup of tea and coffee too! ☕️

A simple outing, but a lovely way to spend some time together 💜

Yesterday was World Photography Day, so it felt like the perfect excuse to get the camera out at Kent House Care Home ! 📸

One of our wonderful residents has a real love for photography, so we spent some time exploring different angles, colours and little moments together. It was lovely to see them behind the camera, capturing the things that caught their eye 🤩

Book Lovers Day was a lovely excuse to spend some time with a good book at Kent House 📚💜

Our residents enjoyed reading together, chatting about some of their favourite stories and sharing memories that came to mind along the way. There were some lovely conversations, with plenty of opportunities to hear about the books and authors that have stayed with them over the years.

Sometimes all it takes is a good story to get everyone talking 😊

Our amazing residents at Kent House Care Home enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing Aquapaint session, watching beautiful pictures appear with nothing more than water and a paintbrush 💜🎨

There were lots of smiles as colourful scenes came to life, giving everyone the chance to get creative in a calm and enjoyable way. The best part was watching the pictures disappear as they dried, ready to be painted all over again. It certainly felt like a little bit of magic 😊

It was a lovely afternoon spent creating, chatting and enjoying something a little different together.
