The restlessness and ADHD symptoms caused by ‘doom scrolling ‘ in young minds.

Estrangement pandemic!
Unqualified, unprofessional platforms professing to provide counselling support or individual influencers diagnosing thier, and other peoples relationships as toxic, with no true idea of what constitutes abuse, are doing untold damage to relationships.

There is a difference between true abuse and disagreement or difference of opinion. Yet there has been a increasing rise in ‘cutting people out of lives’ as a solution to discord. Often unwarranted, damaging for all parties and removing any will or opportunity for resolve and reconciliation.

Abandonment is one of the cruelest things a human can experience. Often used as a means of control in cults and some religions to keep people inline and discourage any critical thinking or acceptance of differences.

We now have a pandemic of alienation. I see more clients coming into therapy that have already cut off loved ones, severing often years of connection, because of a TikTok influencer, podcast or similar.

Pofessional therapists (experienced, insured and accredited) would have helped clients to explore thoughts and feelings, history and possible explanations, and so much more. If a relationship is abusive or dangerous and requires a ‘no contact ‘ outcome, the client would be supported in their communication of this. This is rarely the outcome if both parties wish to overcome differences and establish a respectful loving relationship.

Sadly, algorithms and trends are influencing our humanity and breaking hearts.
