Family meals are about so much more than food.

They are about sitting together, sharing space, slowing down, and creating a sense of connection around the table. Homemade food, good quality ingredients, and exposure to different meals all matter, especially for children.

But in many families, there is also someone who gets called a “fussy eater”. And sometimes, it is not just fussiness. For some people, food can feel overwhelming.

Textures, smells, colours, temperature, or even the way something looks on the plate can make eating feel difficult or uncomfortable. What feels delicious and comforting to one person may feel too much for someone else.

So while exposure to different foods is important, pressure rarely helps. Sometimes the first step is simply being at the table. Seeing the food. Smelling it. Watching others enjoy it. Feeling included without being forced.

That safety matters.

With time, patience, and gentle curiosity, variety can grow. But trust with food is built slowly.

So yes, offer the good food.
Eat together when you can.
Keep exposing them gently.

But remember: the table should feel safe for everyone.

Chronic constipation can affect people at any age.

Recently, a lovely 70-year-old client came in after struggling with constipation for most of her life and trying laxatives over the years with little success.

After seeing a video of colonic treatment, something just clicked for her. She asked her daughter to help find an established local clinic where she could have the treatment done.

🌀This is why sharing information is so important. For many people, especially older generations, bowel issues can still feel difficult to talk about, so they may not always know what options are available.
