Sea air, sunshine, salty hair and nowhere to rush to.

There’s something about life by the sea in Italy that makes you slow down and appreciate the simple things.

La dolce vita, one beach day at a time.

Watermelon is more than just a refreshing summer fruit.

It’s naturally rich in L-citrulline, which helps the body produce nitric oxide — supporting healthy blood flow and cardiovascular health.

For athletes, this may also support circulation to working muscles, while watermelon is a great way to rehydrate after exercise.

Simple, seasonal and good for you.

La dolce vita.

There’s something about Italian life that reminds you to slow down and enjoy the simple things, days by the sea, mountains in the distance, and delicious fresh food shared around the table.

A little sunshine, good food and beautiful surroundings… this is la dolce vita.

Don’t underestimate the humble red onion!

Rich in quercetin and anthocyanins, red onions provide powerful antioxidants that support heart health, help manage inflammation and promote healthy ageing.

They also contain prebiotic fibre to feed your beneficial gut bacteria.

Simple foods. Big nutritional benefits.

Everyone’s talking about GLP-1s… but hardly anyone’s talking about this.

If you’re thinking about taking one, don’t just focus on the weight you’re losing, think about what you’re losing.

Because yes, GLP-1s can be incredibly effective for weight loss. But they also reduce your appetite, making it much easier to miss out on the protein and nutrients your body needs.

And here’s the part that worries me most: some studies suggest that up to 40% of the weight lost can come from muscle. Muscle is one of the biggest predictors of healthy ageing.

So if you’re taking a GLP-1, don’t just chase the number on the scales. Protect your muscle, prioritise good nutrition, and work with a nutritionist so your health improves alongside your weight.

Not something I’d recommend to my clients, and definitely not something I’d advise without careful consideration. But it does highlight an important concept: hormetic stress.

Running is a stress on the body, but in the right amount, it can be a good stress. It encourages your body to adapt, becoming stronger, fitter and more resilient. The same principle applies to strength training, saunas, cold water exposure, fasting and even learning new skills.

The key is that these are short, controlled challenges followed by recovery. Too much stress, too often, without adequate rest? That’s when it becomes harmful rather than beneficial.

Just as muscles need recovery after a workout, your whole body needs time to adapt to the stress you’ve placed on it.

Resilience isn’t built by avoiding stress, it’s built by balancing challenge with recovery.

Why I Start Every Morning on My Rebounder…

If you’re a runner, a rebounder is one of the simplest ways to support your training.

Rebounding allows you to lift your knees high and work on your running mechanics without the impact of pounding the pavement. It’s gentle on the knees and joints while still helping to improve coordination, balance and cardiovascular fitness.

It’s also a fantastic way to wake up your lymphatic system. Unlike your heart, the lymphatic system relies on movement to circulate fluid around the body. Just a few minutes of gentle bouncing each morning can help stimulate lymph flow, support waste removal and leave you feeling more energised for the day ahead.

I start every morning with 5–10 minutes on my rebounder. It’s low impact, effective, and one of my favourite healthy habits for both movement and wellbeing.

Do you use a rebounder as part of your morning routine?

Most people think they’re eating enough fibre, but they’re missing the type that really matters.

Natural fibre from vegetables, beans, lentils, fruit and other whole plant foods can help you:
• Feel fuller for longer
• Support a healthy gut microbiome
• Stay regular
• Reduce cravings
• Support healthy weight loss

Small changes made consistently can have a big impact on your health.

What are your favourite high-fibre foods?
