Today, NAHS joins people and organisations around the world in recognising World Su***de Prevention Day, a day to raise awareness, encourage understanding and remind one another of the importance of compassion, connection and support.

Behind every statistic is a person. A colleague, friend, family member or loved one. Someone who may be struggling in ways that aren't always visible to those around them.

Within healthcare and healthcare security, our colleagues can work in incredibly challenging environments. They may witness distress, violence, trauma and difficult situations while continuing to support and protect others. It is important that we remember to look after the people behind the uniform too.

Sometimes, simply asking "Are you okay?", taking the time to listen without judgement, or checking in with someone who seems a little quieter than usual can mean more than we realise.

We also recognise those who have lost someone to su***de, those supporting somebody who is struggling, and those who may be facing their own difficult circumstances today. Our thoughts and support are with you.

World Su***de Prevention Day is a reminder that we can all help create environments where people feel able to talk, where mental health is treated with compassion, and where nobody feels they have to struggle in silence.

🛡️ 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆
Protective security is about more than understanding risk. It is about having the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to make informed decisions when they matter.

The Level 3 Counter Terrorism Protective Security & Preparedness (CTPSaP) qualification brings together professionals from healthcare and higher education for five days of practical, in-person learning focused on strengthening security, preparedness and organisational resilience.

Delivered by Nu-Ology Training in collaboration with NAHS and AUCSO, the programme provides an opportunity to learn alongside peers, share experience across sectors and take practical learning back into your organisation.

📍 Remaining 2026 delivery dates include Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton, Birmingham and London.
