We spent the day reviving our sewing skills, getting creative with designs, and testing out the sewing machine. Linda was delighted to share her expertise, having worked as a machinist in the past, and enjoyed teaching everyone along the way. We even made some handy little bags for glasses and pens. Well done, everyone! 🧵✨

We had a lovely trip to Hainault Country Park in our Myley minibus last week. With sunshine and just the right temperature, it was the perfect day to explore!

Everyone enjoyed meeting the animals, from chickens and rabbits to llamas, goats, ponies and sheep, and even had the chance to give some of them a gentle stroke.

After a stroll around the farm, we finished the day with a well deserved ice cream before heading home. A big thank you to our driver for making the journey so smooth and comfortable.
A brilliant day all round, we’re already looking forward to the next adventure!

Today we celebrated VE Day together with the people living with us. It was a wonderful morning filled with memories, reflection, and conversation. We began by listening to the story of the young Princess Elizabeth going out to celebrate on the streets of London on the 8th of May 1945. Afterwards, we enjoyed a VE Day quiz together, which brought back many memories and sparked lots of discussion.

We also explored replicas of wartime magazines, newspapers, flyers, ration books, and wartime instructions, many of which our residents remembered well. Looking through these items together led to some lovely conversations and reminiscence about life during and after the war. It was a very meaningful and enjoyable morning for everyone involved.

The people living with us went on a trip to the Charity Shop yesterday. We were searching for some cuddly toys, vases and sun hats. We had a lovely time browsing and even found a few things which already found new homes.
