Living with ongoing neck pain can affect so much more than just your neck. It can change how you work, sleep, exercise, and enjoy everyday activities.

Research continues to explore how hands-on treatments, including spinal manipulation, may help some people with chronic neck pain by improving movement and reducing symptoms.

At Eltham Osteopathy Clinic, we look beyond where it hurts — we assess how your body moves, what may be contributing to your discomfort, and how we can support you in getting back to the things you love.

Better movement starts with understanding your body. 💜

When heel pain just won’t go away…

That nagging pain under your heel can be frustrating — especially when it starts affecting your walks, workouts or even those first few steps in the morning.

One common cause is 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘀, where the strong band of tissue running along the bottom of the foot becomes irritated and painful.

It can develop gradually and is often associated with things like changes in activity, increased training, prolonged standing, reduced ankle mobility or increased load through the foot.

And while the pain is felt in the heel, there can be more to the picture.

Your calves, ankles, feet and the way you move all influence how load is distributed through the body.

This is why we assess more than just the painful area. As osteopaths, we look at how the different parts of your body are moving and working together, and what might be contributing to your symptoms.

For some people, plantar fasciitis settles with the right combination of hands-on treatment, movement and exercise. For others, particularly when symptoms have been persistent, a different approach may be needed.

If heel pain has been hanging around, don’t just learn to live with it.

We’re always looking at new ways to support our patients — and we’ll be sharing more on this soon. 👀

Did you know that most people with tennis elbow have never picked up a tennis racket?

Tennis elbow is an overuse injury affecting the tendons that attach to the outside of the elbow. Repetitive activities—such as using tools, typing, gardening or lifting—can all contribute.

While rest may temporarily ease symptoms, if your elbow pain is making everyday tasks difficult, seeking advice early can help prevent symptoms becoming persistent.

✨ Wondering what happens at your first osteopathy appointment?

Walking into a new clinic can feel a little uncertain — especially when you're already dealing with pain or discomfort.

Your first appointment is all about understanding you: what you're experiencing, your health history, how your body is moving, and what may be contributing to your symptoms.

We'll take the time to listen, we’ll discuss your symptoms, assess your movement, explain what we find, and help you take the first steps towards feeling better.

No pressure. No guesswork. Just personalised care to help you move better. 💜

☀️ Did you know? Not all UV rays affect your skin in the same way.

While sunlight helps our bodies produce Vitamin D, too much UV exposure can accelerate skin ageing and increase the risk of skin damage.

Here's a quick guide to how UV rays interact with your skin and why protecting it matters.
