Today is National Poetry Day. Poems are the most common choice of reading at a funeral service, although Psalms and literature extracts are popular. Here is a poem about the joys of getting old, read by Helena Bonham Carter, something to capture the cheeky side of ageing; “Warning” by Jenny Joseph.

Being able to choose one of our range of coloured cravats can add some personality to your loved one’s funeral. We often see our blue cravats paired with football scarfs and flags or floral arrangements, to bring together a special day.

A very warm welcome to the team at Maddisons Florist, who are settling into their new shop at 3 The Broadway, Old Hatfield. 💐🌷

Maddisons has been part of the wider Hatfield community since 1981, so it's lovely to see such a familiar name joining the village. Pop in to say hello to Cheryl, Liz and Sarah in the shop, or give Ian a wave if you spot him out on deliveries!
