S*x is already in the therapy room.
The question is; are we meeting it?

This module helps you:
Reflect.
Notice.
Respond with confidence.

Because our core trainings can only teach us so much.

If you have any questions about our cpds and how to access them, drop us a dm or put your question in the comments and we will get back to you.

We shared recently that we had trainee supervision spaces available, and they’ve now been filled 🌿

Thank you to everyone who reached out, joined, or shared this with others.

We’ll be opening spaces again in the future, so if you’d like to be the first to hear, feel free to join our mailing list.

And if you’re a qualified therapist, we’re currently sharing something for you via email… More on that soon.

“My other supervision feels dry…”

That’s something a trainee recently shared with us.

Not because it wasn’t “good enough”,
but because it felt:

• a bit rigid
• focused on getting through client work
• like something to get through, rather than something to look forward to

What they said about our supervision was different:

• it feels safe and human
• they can be honest; even about mistakes
• they learn from others in the group
• there’s space to explore difference and intersectionality

They described it as:

✨ “supervision I actually look forward to”

That’s what we aim to create.

A space that supports not just your hours;
but your growth as a therapist.

We currently have 1 trainee space remaining.

Counsellors spend hours sitting with clients.

Over time that can show up as stiffness in the hips, lower back and upper spine.

These are a few simple seated movements you can do between sessions to bring some gentle movement back into your body.

They take less than three minutes and can be done right from your chair.

As practitioners we often focus on holding space for others.
But our bodies are holding the work too.

Small moments of movement can make a difference.

✨ Save this for your next break between clients.

Let’s Talk About S*x 👀

S*x is everywhere in culture… but often nowhere in therapy.

Yet s*xual wellbeing is fundamental to overall health. The World Health Organization recognises s*xual health as central to wellbeing, not just the absence of dysfunction, but the presence of safety, respect and pleasure.

In the therapy room, s*x rarely arrives announced.

It shows up as:
• “I don’t feel like myself.”
• Relationship conflict.
• Anxiety.
• Shame.
• Loss of desire.
• Body image concerns.
• Trauma responses.

Many clients want to talk about s*x, but they’re waiting for permission.

Waiting to see if we flinch.
Waiting to see if it’s allowed.

As therapists, we don’t need to be s*x therapists to make s*x speakable.

We just need the confidence to open the door.

Because when we avoid s*x, we may be avoiding part of the formulation.

And when we normalise it?

Shame softens.
Curiosity grows.
Connection deepens.

S*x belongs in the therapy room. 💛

This month in supervision, I’ve suggested:

🩸 A full blood work up
💉 Vitamin B injections
✊🏾 A hand exerciser
💊 Ferrous fumarate

Not because my supervisees aren’t reflective.
Not because they aren’t skilled.
Not because they “can’t cope.”

But because counsellors are human.

Sometimes what looks like:
• burnout
• low confidence
• brain fog
• emotional overwhelm
• imposter feelings

…can also be iron deficiency, B12 depletion, chronic tension, exhaustion, or simply a nervous system that’s been in overdrive for too long.

As therapists, we are trained to explore the psychological.

But supervision is also a space to gently explore the biological and practical.

When you bring how you really are to supervision (not just the polished, competent version) your supervisor can actually support you properly.

At TCC, all of our supervisors work with counsellors as whole people. We recognise that clinical work lives in bodies, nervous systems, hormones, family systems, finances, and lived experience — not just in theory and case formulation.

Our supervisors bring a wide range of professional and life experience, which means support isn’t one-dimensional.

You deserve supervision that sees all of you.
Not just your case notes.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us and want to talk through options, send us a DM and we will get back to you!

You wanted to know what a supervision review is… let me tell you!

A supervision review is a bit like a review with a client. A time to reflect on the work, what’s working, what isn’t and what you would like support with.

The can be done formally or informally. As part of your supervision time or outside of it.

Supervision reviews should be done at least annually to make sure the relationship is working and you are getting your needs and your clients needs met.

I provide my supervisees with some reflective questions to go through ahead of the session to help guide the discussion.

Want to know what those questions are so you can reflect on your own supervision?

Type “SUPERVISION” in the comments and I’ll do a post with them in.
