The Really Healthy Company The Really Healthy Company supplies natural and effective food supplements.

These supplements are obviously important to us as a small business, and we are very proud to be distributing such important ones. But even more important to us is our personal interest in natural healthy living and alternative & complementary medicine, and supporting related causes. Behind the scenes we walk our talk and live natural lifestyles (well, as much as we can in this polluted world), and look forward to the day when large corporations are not the ones influencing or dictating government health policies. Freedom from corporate influence and real long-term health and wholeness go hand in hand.

Introducing AlphaZomal™ – A New Approach to Liposomal Supplements

We’re pleased to introduce AlphaZomal™, a new range of liposomal supplements at The Really Healthy Company.

Unlike traditional liquid liposomal supplements, AlphaZomal uses dry liposomal technology in convenient vegetable capsules – with no liquids to measure and no refrigeration required.

What makes liposomal technology interesting?

Liposomes are tiny structures made from phospholipids, similar to those found naturally in our cell membranes. They are designed to encapsulate and carry nutrients.

Discover the eight products in the range:

• Vitamin C – Immune function and collagen formation
• Vitamin B12 – Energy metabolism and nervous system function
• Vitamin B-Complex – A combination of essential B vitamins
• Magnesium – Muscle function and reducing tiredness
• CoQ10 – A naturally occurring compound involved in cellular energy production
• Glutathione – A naturally occurring compound found throughout the body
• Multi – 22 vitamins, minerals and trace elements
• Vegan D3 + K2 + Magnesium – Supporting the maintenance of normal bones

Why did we choose AlphaZomal?

We’re particular about the supplements we offer. Quality, formulation and ingredient transparency are always important to us.

AlphaZomal brings together liposomal technology and everyday convenience, offering a choice of individual nutrients or broader nutritional support.

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of attending their NeuroBloom event, and it was lovely to see the work they're doing to raise awareness and support people with ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions.

With some of us here at The Really Healthy Company having ADHD ourselves, it's something quite close to our hearts. We know first-hand that everyone's brain works a little differently, and how important it is to feel understood and supported.

We love coming across organisations that genuinely care about making a difference, and Nutritious Minds Trust is certainly one of them.

💚 We're really pleased to have discovered them and look forward to following the wonderful work they do.

If you haven't heard of them before, do take a few minutes to have a look at their website and see what they're all about.

🐾 HOMEOPATHY FOR PETS – A NATURAL APPROACH? 🌿

Did you know that homeopathy has a long history of traditional use in animal care?

Here are four well-known remedies and their traditional homeopathic associations:

🌼 Arnica Montana – Traditionally associated with bumps, bruises and physical knocks.

🌺 Belladonna – Traditionally selected for sudden heat, redness and sensitivity.

🌿 Aconite (Aconitum Napellus) – Traditionally associated with sudden fright, fear and shock.

🍃 Ledum Palustre – Traditionally associated with insect bites, stings and puncture wounds.

🐶 How are they used?

Homeopathic remedies come in pellets or liquid preparations. Always seek veterinary advice before giving them to your pet, particularly when choosing a preparation or potency.

💚 Remember: Although these remedies have a history of traditional use, scientific evidence does not support homeopathy as an effective treatment for animals. It should never replace veterinary care, particularly for injuries, bites or illness.

Our pets deserve the very best care! 🐾

CURCUMIN: MORE THAN THE GOLDEN COLOUR OF TURMERIC

Turmeric has been used for centuries, but one of its most fascinating natural compounds is curcumin — the bright yellow polyphenol responsible for much of turmeric’s distinctive colour.

Today, curcumin is one of the most widely researched plant compounds, particularly for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

So why has it attracted so much attention?

Inflammation is a normal and important part of the body’s natural response. The problem is when inflammatory processes become prolonged or poorly regulated. This is one reason researchers have become so interested in compounds such as curcumin and the ways they interact with pathways involved in the inflammatory response.

Curcumin is also studied for its antioxidant activity. Antioxidants help protect cells from oxidative stress caused by free radicals — something our bodies encounter every day through normal metabolism as well as environmental and lifestyle factors.

But there’s an important catch…

Curcumin is naturally difficult for the body to absorb.

Eating turmeric is a wonderful way to include this spice in your diet, but curcumin itself has relatively poor bioavailability. It is poorly absorbed and is rapidly metabolised and eliminated from the body.

This is why, when choosing a curcumin supplement, the delivery system can be just as important as the number of milligrams on the label.

Different formulations have been developed to improve curcumin's absorption and bioavailability, including lipid-based and other enhanced-delivery forms.

So when you're comparing curcumin supplements, don't just ask:

“How much curcumin does it contain?”

Also ask:

“What form of curcumin is it — and how has it been formulated for absorption?”

Sometimes, the most important part of a supplement isn't the biggest number on the label.

RED RASPBERRY LEAF – MORE THAN JUST THE BERRY

When we think of raspberries, most of us picture the sweet red fruit. But herbalists have been interested in another part of the plant for centuries — the leaves.

Red raspberry (Rubus idaeus) has a surprisingly long history in European herbal traditions, with records of the leaves being used medicinally in Europe dating back many centuries.

Traditionally, raspberry leaf has been prepared as a tea or infusion and became particularly associated with women’s herbal practice. Herbal texts have also recorded its traditional use for digestion and as an astringent preparation for the mouth and throat.

What makes the history particularly interesting is that raspberry leaf hasn't disappeared from modern herbalism. It continues to feature in herbal literature and is recognised by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) as a traditional herbal substance.

However, traditional use isn't the same as proven clinical benefit. The EMA notes that clinical research on raspberry leaf is limited, so many of its uses remain rooted in herbal tradition rather than strong modern clinical evidence.

A homage to Professor Teruo Higa

There are some people whose work changes the way you look at the world. Professor Teruo Higa is one of those people for me.

His story began, not with a grand plan, but with curiosity, persistence and a simple observation.

After years of experimenting with individual microorganisms, Prof. Higa noticed something unexpected. Different microbial cultures, collected together and scattered onto a patch of grass, seemed to have a remarkable effect. The grass flourished.

It was a small observation, but it led to a much bigger idea: perhaps microorganisms do not always work best in isolation. Perhaps, when the right ones are brought together, they can work in harmony.

Through years of experimentation in the field, this became the foundation of EM ...... Effective Microorganisms and the wider philosophy of EM Technology.

What I love about Professor Higa's work is that it challenges the idea that nature always needs to be controlled or dominated. Instead, it asks us to understand the relationships between living systems and to work with them.

That philosophy is at the heart of Micromax.

Micromax is our live ecosystem in a bottle, inspired by the pioneering work of Professor Higa and the world of beneficial microorganisms he opened up to us.

For me, this is more than a product story. It is a philosophy that I find incredibly compelling: support the ecosystem rather than trying to control it.

Sometimes the smallest observation can lead to a much bigger idea.

Thank you, Professor Higa, for looking at the world differently.

Carob Truffles -

These are ridiculously good and easy to make!!
Ingredients (100% Vegan):
1 cup Medjool dates, pitted (nature’s caramel!

1/2 cup raw Carob powder (not cocoa powder unless it's unsweetened and dairy-free)

1/2 cup almond flour (or sub with ground cashews, walnuts, sunflower seeds — all vegan)

1 Heaped Tablespoon of Klamath Blue Green Algae

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

Optional (but delicious):

1–2 tbsp maple syrup or agave nectar (for extra sweetness)

1–2 tbsp nut butter (almond, peanut, or tahini for richness)

1–2 tbsp coconut oil (helps with texture and solidifying if you're not oil-free)

Flavour twists: orange zest, espresso powder, cinnamon, or mint extract

Instructions:
Soak dates in warm water for 10 mins if they’re dry, then drain.

Add dates to a food processor and blend until a sticky paste forms.

Add cacao powder, almond flour, vanilla, salt, Klamath Blue Green Algae, and any optional ingredients. Blend again until it’s thick and dough-like.

Roll into bite-sized balls.

Coat with:

More Carob powder

Shredded coconut

Chopped nuts

Or just leave them naked and proud

Chill in the fridge for 20–30 minutes to firm up.

Tips:
For nut-free: sub almond flour with oat flour or sunflower seed meal.

Want them fudgier? Add more nut butter or coconut oil.

Want them firmer? Add a bit more almond flour or chill longer.
