es a small group of 48 residents living with a form of dementia; the perfect number to ensure a close sense of community, while allowing the highest standards of personalised care. With picture postcard good looks and oozing charm, Blackheath is one of London’s prettiest and most welcoming neighbourhoods – with an abundance of enviable local amenities including shops and restaurants. It is also a neighbourhood that fosters community spirit, spearheaded by The Blackheath Society, one of the oldest such societies in the country which organises activities to ‘preserve and enhance the area’. We know it is the little things that can make all the difference – like always having time for a chat, knowing the names of your children and grandchildren, and never forgetting a birthday or anniversary. This afternoon we waved goodbye to our lovely Leigh, Lead Wellbeing & Lifestyle Coordinator.

Leigh first joined Leah Lodge 8 years ago as a Carer, but it wasn’t long before she discovered her real passion for wellbeing and activities. With her wonderfully creative background, she quickly put her talents to good use, filling our days with endless arts, crafts and creative projects.

We are going to miss her very, very much, but we are so excited to see what the future holds for her and wish her every happiness and success in her new endeavours. Thank you for everything, Leigh — you will always be a special part of the Leah Lodge family.

We had a morning of rain and an afternoon of sunshine, but that didn’t stop us from having a day of trips out last week.

Our Residents thoroughly enjoyed visits to Charlton House and Hall Place, exploring the beautiful grounds and enjoying the fresh air.

Whatever the weather, there’s always a lovely time to be had alongside some tea and cake and a cheeky ice cream!

We had a little wildlife rescue earlier today! One of our Residents spotted a bumblebee in need of a helping hand, so we gave our tiny visitor a much-needed drink of sugar water. Under their careful watch, our little friend soon perked up and was safely relocated to somewhere suitable to continue its journey.

A lovely little moment of kindness, care and connection with nature! 🐝
