10/09/2026
Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
2026 marks the third and final year of the global theme “Changing the Narrative on Su***de”, led by International Association for Su***de Prevention in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO).
This year, we are encouraged to start the conversation and take action.
Changing the narrative means challenging stigma, encouraging open and honest conversations about su***de, and creating communities and workplaces where people feel heard, supported and able to seek help.
As individuals, communities and organisations, we all have a part to play. Every conversation matters, and together we can help build a culture of greater understanding, compassion and support.
If you or someone you know needs support:
📞 Samaritans: 116 123 – free, day or night
📞 NHS 111: Select the mental health option for urgent support
🚨 If someone’s life is at immediate risk, call 999 or go to A&E.
