When Nerves Show Up Right Before Something Important

Even when you’re prepared.
Even when you feel confident in your message.
Even when you know you’re ready.

Nerves can still appear.

On the day of my TEDx talk, I felt them arrive quietly.
Not because I doubted myself — but because the moment truly mattered.

A fellow lovely TEDx speaker, who is also a psychotherapist, helped me gently reframe what was happening in my body.
Not fear.
But care.
Meaning.
Energy.

And suddenly, my nerves didn’t feel like something to fight.
They felt like something to honour.

This was such a powerful reminder: confidence isn’t about feeling calm all the time.
It’s about trusting yourself enough to keep going, even when your heart beats faster.

If you’re standing on the edge of something important — this is your sign to step forward anyway.

💜 Thank you Kerry-Lyn for grounding me in that moment — your support meant more than you know.
And thank you Mirela Sula — for capturing this moment with so much heart
and for that beautiful “I love you” at the end — a reminder of how powerful support and sisterhood can be in big moments. 💖

Two days later… and it’s finally sinking in.
I stood on that TEDx red dot and shared a message I’ve carried for 21 years:
✨ Ageing is inevitable, but decline is optional.

I spoke about ageing not as something to fear, but something to understand —
something we can influence physically, emotionally and psychologically.

We don’t have to panic when we see changes in the mirror.
We can understand them.
We can slow them.

And with today’s science… we can even reshape how we age.
The messages, hugs, voice notes, and support over the past 48 hours have overwhelmed me in the best possible way.
Thank you for holding this moment with me.
My heart is full. 💜

It’s been two days since my TED Talk… and the meaning of what happened is finally landing in my heart.

Standing on that red dot, sharing a message I’ve lived and breathed for 21 years —
✨ Ageing is inevitable, but decline is optional —
felt like stepping into the truest version of my purpose.

It was emotional.
It was empowering.
It was a moment I will never forget.

I spoke about how ageing affects us psychologically, biologically and emotionally… and how we don’t need to fear the changes we see in the mirror.
We can understand them.
We can slow them.

And with the advancements in science today, we can even change the way we age.

To every single person who sent a message, came up to me with encouragement, or simply held me in their thoughts — THANK YOU. 💜

Your love carried me through this moment.
My heart is full.

I Finished My TEDx Talk — And That’s When the Magic Really Started

I stepped off the TEDx stage this morning University of Surrey… and what happened next completely surprised me.

All day — in the breaks, between sessions, in the hallways… even in the bathroom — people kept coming up to me. They wanted to share how my message moved them, how it made them rethink their skin, their confidence, their choices… and how deeply it resonated.

Some came for skin advice.
But many came for something even more heartfelt — to tell me that my journey inspired them to start theirs. To step into their expertise. To chase the path they’ve been afraid to pursue. To believe that their story matters too.

That touched me in a way I’ll never forget.

Today reminded me that I’ve been underestimating the power we, as experts, carry. Our knowledge isn’t just technical — it’s transformational. It empowers people to make decisions that reshape their lives.

And in my world, that transformation begins with the skin.
Because decisions about your skin don’t stay on the surface — they ripple into your confidence, wellbeing, identity, and future.

I’m on a mission to spark a revolution.
One where the people who’ve been sitting on the fence finally understand that the power is in their skin — and in the choices they make for it.

Today didn’t just validate my message. It fuelled my fire.
And I’m more energised than ever for what’s ahead.

⭐️ Big news! ⭐️

I’m speaking at TEDxUniversityofSurrey 2025 as part of “Echoes—What’s Next.” 🎤✨
Stepping out of my comfort zone has been a mix of nerves, excitement, and growth… and now I get to share what that journey has taught me on the TEDx stage!

My talk is about more than skin—it’s about psychology, confidence, self-care, and the choices we make about how we show up in the world. I’ll also be exploring what’s next for the future of skin and ageing, and how we can embrace it with science-led care, confidence, and intention.

I’m deeply grateful to .sula_globalwoman for nominating me and encouraging me to take this leap.

Feeling grateful, inspired, and a little nervous… Wish me luck! ⭐️
