It's a good question - our last post was in September 2021!

So where have we been?

Well... we're still massaging... but we've also set up Moon: Three Age Women's Health (we'd appreciate a 'follow') to support women at every stage of their journey through life, from puberty to menopause and beyond.

We have a wonderful wealth of fellow wise women practitioners offering their expertise, skills and knowledge, come and check us out.

Hmmm... the point that you know you should've followed your own frequent advice for injuries.

I rolled my ankle a week ago and although it's no longer painful the tissues are certainly still injured... what I didn't do at the time was:

Rest
Ice
Compress
Elevate

Although RICE 🍚 is a bit tricky when you're camping 🏕 with two small children 🧑🏼👧🏻

Now fluid is being retained around the ankle as the damaged tissues are inhibiting the normal function of the lymphatic system.

But even a week after an injury you can still promote healing. After work I'll massage it, ice it 🧊 and elevate it... think I might even crack out the compression socks 🧦 tomorrow 😆

This cheeky little fella can cause a lot of shoulder pain and mobility issues, so it's best to try and rule it out early, when establishing a treatment plan.

Which is exactly what we did with our first client of the day, who'd come off his bike recently, straight onto his shoulder.

The test is pretty easy (although not 100% conclusive) and involves passively moving the arm, so as not to activate the muscles that mobilise the shoulder. If there's no pain when this is done (as was the case this morning) it's likely to be a muscular issue rather than a bursa issue.

Love the problem solving aspect of this job 😊

Hmmm... full, hot cup of tea (cos that's how we roll on a Friday night).

How long before one, or both of them are down because they're thirsty, need a poo, the garden's too loud, their feet are too hot, they want help putting swimming goggles on...

I give it seven minutes...
