Who is the opposite of "a good girl"?
A woman.
I'm back dating. And it's challenging — not because of the men I meet.
It's challenging because my hidden patterns are surfacing fully this time, and they don't want to be ignored or hidden anymore.
I used to think being the "good girl" — available, warm, waiting, tolerating silence, excusing words without action — was how you earned love. I'd meet someone, have a good time, then get ghosted. Silence. Words with no follow-through. And I'd make it mean something about me.
This morning, the anger rose. Enough.
I put on my new dress. My lipstick. A neutral face. Not smiling to please. A woman, not a girl performing for approval.
My new standard: stay present. Observe. Discern.
The men who disappear after a good time, who offer words with no action — they didn't reject me. They revealed themselves.
I'm no longer making myself available to men who aren't available to me.
The patterns are showing up to be seen. And this time, I'm not looking away.
